  1. It was very obvious coming home from work in the mornings this week that the roads were getting quieter every day, so there must be a lot of people either working from home, or having to stay home to self isolate. What is becoming apparent though, is that unless the government actually order bars and restaurants to close, then their social distancing recommendations will make very little difference. As has been mentioned several times on this thread, people are c***s.
  2. I'm sure it will be a strange day in school for a lot of pupils and staff. S4-S6 pupils who suddenly find that their last day at school has arrived a lot sooner than they thought. Likewise, there will be teachers and other staff members who were due to retire or change schools in the summer, who will also be face to face with pupils for the last time today.
  3. Our bunkers have been GUR anyway due to the amount of rain, so they are a bit behind with some of the maintenance and one of the jobs still to be done is topping up the sand levels, so they will just keep the GUR status until further notice. They have also put the cups in upside down so you don't have to go fishing for your ball. I don't usually get to play many comps until the football season is done, but we have a Stableford tourney on Saturday, looking forward to it as the forecast is decent. I do fear that lockdown isn't too far away though, but imo we could still play even if the clubhouse has to be closed.
  4. My brother in law has a cough and a high temperature, but we'll probably never know for sure if he has/had Covid19 as the only way he is likely to get tested is if he is hospitalised.
  5. My aunt is Italian and has family near Naples, it's certainly true about people still living with parents, and in some cases 3 generations will be living together. Even bigger problems there than there is in the UK for young people trying to get in to the housing market.
  6. My pal is a geography teacher, and his experience is that many pupils who tank the prelims realise they have to get the finger out and do much better in the final exams as a result.
  7. Exams now cancelled. https://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/93598.html
  8. Spring breakers in acting like c***s shocker.
  9. London Underground closures starting today, with 40 stations which have no interchange with other lines first to shut down. Night tube also withdrawn, and the Waterloo and City line will close tomorrow.
  10. That was what the wife's pal who is a teacher told us, that the plan at the moment is for exams still to run with the absolute bare minimum of people in school that are required for it to function. She also thinks the schools won't be open after this week.
  11. Very noticeable that schools are making sure that pupils have everything they need to access online resources like GLOW. I'll be surprised if they don't shut down on Friday, if they even make it that far.
  12. That will actually work out better long term, gets it back on odd years and keeps it away from Olympic years. ETA: both the European and US Ryder Cup Twitter accounts dismissed the reports as inaccurate.
  13. €30m per season according to reports, which suggests it's more than just a one year deal.
  14. I agree, one of the complaints about international series games has been from teams losing a home match, that nullifies that argument. Immediate problem though is if international travel is going to be anything like normal come next season.
  15. And the government making it clear exactly what would be open if we do go full lockdown would be a massive help. I know Facebook shouldn't be trusted for most things, but this info from Italy ties with what I have read elsewhere about their restrictions.
  16. 49ers also tie up Jimmie Ward to a 3 year €28.5m contract.
  17. It was an 84 reg IIRC, I got it in February 92 after I passed my test. Got about 2 years out of it before it rusted to bits.
  18. Mariota close to a deal with the Raiders.
  19. It was obviously a much improved performance against France, even before the red card, but the last year or so has been very hit and miss. If we had gone to Cardiff and shat the bed as we often do, then his time was up for me. We seem to have found a bit of pragmatism lately that has been missing for a while. It's as if they have suddenly realised that you have to defend for big parts of games.
  20. I was shocked to see a Scottish hooker throwing the ball straight at a line out tbh.
