  1. I get When Saturday Comes magazine every month, and when VAR was first being introduced they were tipping coaches to have challenge flags by 2021 or 2022.
  2. Nope, been a wee bit of variable bounce so far but not really much happening to get the bowlers excited.
  3. They are still 93 in front just now. Skittle England this morning and still have 30-40 of a lead, then bat the rest of today and part of tomorrow, have a lead of 200-220, then give themselves close to 2 sessions to bowl England out. Improbable, but given some of England's collapses on their travels certainly not impossible.
  4. Condolences from all at Petershill, he was always one of the more informed posters on here.
  5. I'd go either for the draw or England somehow managing to collapse twice to give NZ the win.
  6. Yep, there was a whole collection of decisions that led to the catastrophe that followed. I read the whole report from the Hillsborough Independent Panel when it was released in 2012, it is pretty harrowing stuff but I would recommend it to anybody who wants to genuinely find out what happened on the day. The option of delaying the kick off was also not considered. As mentioned, it wasn't just decisions made on the day that caused 96 deaths, with the FA's decision to use a dilapidated ground with no adequate safety certificates being the first one. Here's the link if anybody wants to read the report. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-report-of-the-hillsborough-independent-panel
  7. Goodell will be rubbing his hands, could be another swathe of fines headed his way, though it will take something special to match the 700k plus from the first meeting.
  8. Of those semi finals Liverpool and Forest played at Hillsborough in 1988. One difference as far as I am aware was that the police had a cordon in place that day to check tickets before people were allowed near the stadium, but that wasn't in place in 1989, presumably to save on costs.
  9. Pishing down. They've not long started taking the covers off the pitch and the rain has got worse.
  10. Broncos starting with Drew Lock at QB, while rumours are the Chargers are on the verge of benching Rivers after his last 2 poor performances.
  11. It's been a shit few years for McLaren, good to see them making some progress.
  12. 41 on the front 9 for Larrazabal and he was all over the place, looked like he was going to chuck his shoes in the water at one point. He hooked one drive so far left it missed the water hazard completely. Some finish with 3 birdies in the last 4 holes to win it by 1.
  13. Agreed. VAR is making the officials lazy, the assistant watches the keeper and the ref watches the edge of the box, shouldn't need VAR to review that. Fact is though that the guy who cleared the ball was well inside the box when the kick was taken, harsh but unfortunately correct decision.
  14. FFS. Right after I posted Drysdale dropped 5 shots in 2 holes.
  15. A closing 69 sees Connor Syme move to -2 and currently in 10th spot at the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek. David Drysdale and Calum Hill also heading for decent finishes. The next couple of months are a good chance for these guys to rack up sone RtD points, Drysdale's form in the same stages last year virtually kept him his card.
  16. Pakistan resumed on 96-6, but managed to drag themselves to 302 thanks to 97 from Babar and 113 from Yasir. Australia enforced the follow on though and Hazlewood has already trapped Imam in the 4th over to leave Pakistan 2-1 at the dinner break and still 285 behind.
  17. FFS, after all that hard work he gets himself run out two balls later out of nothing.
  18. Ton for Burns from 207 balls, excellent knock, very patient and left loads, but was quick to punish anything loose.
  19. One really damning stat just came up on TMS, this partnership is England's first to go past 150 since Alistair Cook retired.
  20. Club fixtures and results pages are back, and all league fixtures for the rest of the season are in the process of being posted. Championship and Leagues 1 and 2 are already up.
  21. England add 103 without loss in the morning session to go in at lunch 142-2. Burns on 76 and Root on 50, if there was ever a pitch that Root should be converting that to a ton then it has to be this one.
  22. Ton up for England with Burns passing 50 soon after. 102-2 at the moment.
  23. Good positive start from Burns and Root, added 50 runs already in the first 50 odd minutes. Got lucky with one chance put down.
