Daniel Avery was superb. Played for 5 full hours in Sneaky Petes and he mixed up a lot of his set for the next night so it felt fresh even though it was just a day later. Could hardly stand by the end of his Sub Club set after managing about 45 minutes sleep in between both nights though but it's still one of the best nights I've had in there!

Great post. Don't buy into this whole "go f**k her pals" rubbish because it makes you look spiteful, ED. Just find a lassie that you're interested in and focus on yourself rather than how it's going to make your ex feel. I split up with my own girlfriend last month and used it as a catalyst to ask out a lassie I've been proper into for ages and now we're getting together. It all works out in the end. Haven't bothered looking back and it's really lifted my emotions to be into someone that has the same interests and is as easygoing as I am.

IIRC, he opened the set in summer with Drone Logic. You're in for a blast though, he's been brilliant every time I've seen him!

I don't like NYE, feels like too much pressure to enjoy yourself for a night that's always over hyped, rammed at any event and expensive. Planning to just spend Boxing Day and a few of the days after Christmas taking in a few nights at Rooms and maybe Sub Club then spend NYE and the 1st with my family.

Unfortunately not. His set was only 50 minutes long and focused on his TNGHT and Kanye West productions. He did drop this obnoxious Boys Noize banger though before playing Blood on the Leaves for 9 minutes with the Nina Simone version of Strange Fruit as an intro.

Numbers was brilliant. Rare to see it going off almost as soon as the doors were open but it helped that Jackmaster opened the night. Redinho's Chromeo-esque style was a cool break from the DJs and set up Hudson Mohawke who played a short but pummelling trap/ hip hop set. Jackmaster closing with Pet Shop Boys was an excellent end to the night as well. Well worth the tenner I paid for the ticket!

Has anyone played Dead Rising 3? To me it looked like the only launch title worth buying from the E3 gameplay trailers but I admit I haven't bothered to follow many games since the summer. Barely knew about Assassin's Creed IV until my mate gave it to me!

Think I nailed the Modern South Africa exam today and managed an A2 for the second essay of the module so I'm (hopefully) sitting on the cusp of an A for the module.

My auntie posted this the other night. My favourite part about this is her parents (my grandparents obvs) were Irish immigrants and our Irish heritage is something that's celebrated on that part of the family.

The problem with the episodes where not much happens is that it's not even engrossing in the same way many other dramas are. This show lives and dies by the constant danger that the cast are in and when it appears contrived or involves characters that we don't give a shit about then it falls down. It's not bad but it's not a great show either.

Hopefully getting a ticket for Moderat next year if I can talk a mate into going. Can't see it being too difficult as II is a tremendous album.
