The Big Queen's Park FC Thread

Neil Lennon incoming maybe? -
You wonder if a few more will follow, seems as if it’s fairly rife through the peloton, real shame as it was setting up as a good race.

First game tonight since Kelty at home in September (?) Been away on Saturdays for work and then the various Friday night fixtures since then haven’t exactly made me rush out to Hamilton. We didn’t play that well on Saturday and had a bit of luck with Mullen making good saves etc but hopefully we can dig out another result. The injury list is a bit of a concern, even just Doherty and Sula in the side would make a big difference to what we could have, but I’m not optimistic. Needless to say an early second goal would be smashing for the nerves.

Two Jags games feels like an attempt to keep things fresh because they know London feels like the less cool brother to Germany now. I also hope it’s not an attempt to prove that hosting a team here is achievable because I’m sick to the back teeth of that chat. Chiefs-Dolphins or Jags-Bills are likely the pick of the games there.

It’s an easy win regardless tbh.

The trade up for Anderson is catching a lot of heat for the price but the whole city needed the boost tbh and they have two of the best players in the draft so I don’t mind too much. A lot of chat they’ve given away potentially the second pick next year to Arizona but I can’t see the Texans picking quite that high with a last-place schedule next season. I think the pick will be in the 10-12 range personally and the one we have from Cleveland will be around 16 so not too much of a gap.

Bad Bunny is OVER

That moment when Zelina was choked up was genuinely special - this has been a fabulous crowd

For my sins - go Texans
-
Yeah sounds like it - food, beer, music, the full nine yards
-
I wouldn’t dislike Anderson as a top prospect but they can’t come out of tonight without a QB and I’d prefer it wasn’t Levis. Anderson and Richardson would be good or just pick Stroud at 2 and go from there.

I’m at the Texans draft party tonight while in Houston and I’m praying we don’t f**k this up

I’m gonna go full Kevin Keegan if this ‘talented Chinese player’ (copyright Dennis Taylor) pumps Murphy out here.

‘Naughty snooker’ put firmly back in its box once again. Pleasing.

Dumbarton vs Stirling Albion
Ignoramus replied to microdave's topic in Scottish League 2 General Chatter
I spoke to DY and Kyle Banner after the match and they essentially admitted that the mood in the camp for most of the second half was to make sure they didn’t lose the game. It tallied up with the approach on subs etc in the second half I would say. The fact the game was a bit of a stinker probably didn’t help the atmosphere on either side - there was little to really get excited about from effectively the opening minutes of the game and the whole thing felt like an anticlimax. -
Just watched that, fully behind Vafaei on that one, hope he pumps him and then goes full Mourinho at the Nou Camp on him afterwards.

Joyce up by a round on one of the scorecards
-
Joyce’s ‘Homer Simpson’ boxing tactic working out well there, I see. Wilder would’ve had him in the hospital after two rounds.

Clyde FC; Season 2022-23
Ignoramus replied to the_bully_wee's topic in Scottish League 2 General Chatter
In the eyes of many, that’s just pulling hairs tho. As mentioned, Clyde FC doesn’t have the best name after the last few years and we’re dealing with a lot of politics in a decision like this. I understand that it isn’t the Clyde board itself dealing with this, but the Community Foundation and the running of it is inextricably linked with the hierarchy at the club. If that wasn’t the case, we wouldn’t be hearing about the bid at members’ meetings and on the club website. I think it’s a concern that this board - whose record on major decisions has been patchy at best in recent times - have a role to play in this, especially against a club who are ‘in the weeds’ in that neck of the woods. -

On the Crownpoint stuff, I do hope there isn’t any complacency about the absolute necessity to get this process right and secure this site. It is imperative for the club’s future in my view that this site is acquired but we need to make sure that we get some momentum behind our bid within the community and demonstrate to the council why we should take it over. I know the matter of Finnart’s final consultation meeting (which gathered more than 400 people including a couple of local councillors) was raised and the club didn’t sound too concerned by it, but we can’t talk down to their efforts if we can’t get any momentum behind us either. The fact is that they’re a club with real current links to that community and can call on some of that support. We are to some extent relying on history and a future vision to sell to people, which isn’t easy. -
If Phil posts -8… Greg Norman waiting at the 18th with a magnum of champagne on ice

The Italians very nearly stole it in the 10th with an absolutely inspired split but the third counter was just out of the house. The Canadians really seemed to have picked up momentum in the last four games and have been playing out of their skins so this is going to be a big ask but Mouat has lots of experience playing them.

I’m getting a bell for every time McGinley uses the word ‘ignite’, it’s gonna be like the old guy in Breaking Bad before too long

The team seems to be picking up momentum as the comp continues, big game against the Canadians tonight, might seal top two with a win as the Swiss still to play Sweden.
