  1. Exactly, a friend of mine is a Forensic Accountant with HMRC, he’s said that it can literally take years to prosecute major tax fraud and even simple cases can take months.
  2. Do any of them have a valid PTS or PICOW/COSS card? If not then they are trespassing and deserve everything they get.
  3. A few years back Mrs and I were on holiday in an all inclusive hotel, enjoying a session at the bar and noticed that the bar staff were swapping out warm beers with fresh cold ones, okay so the beers weren’t pints but on a roasting day excellent
  4. Does anyone remember Burtons Potato Puffs? I loved them especially the Cheese and Tomato flavour, I think they stopped making them over a decade ago.
  5. A big fat zero for my name last year with 2 the previous year.
  6. The Greens M8 policy shows that they have absolutely no idea of environmental issues or how things actually work. Cars are most environmentally “friendly “ when they are moving in higher gear, so driving at 30 mph is not a good idea for the environment. To me it’s more a control thing, their answer to everything is “don’t do it “ No travelling, no holidays, work close to home, don’t eat anything from abroad, it’s all “don’t “
  7. Pretty much how I’d invest in the club. I keep thinking about how I’d spend my huge euromillions win and every time it’s don’t get involved in the club but spend it on the infrastructure of the club for the benefit of my fellow fans. I know I’m a frigging dogooder
  8. I have a few photos from my seafaring travels around Scotland. Canna and Wreck Bay on Bute.
  9. View from Dysart across the Firth of Forth yesterday. I like the way the rain looks on the horizon.
  10. I used to be based in Queen Street and I was able to see the first plans for the redevelopment, there was supposed to be a mezzanine with shops, a direct link into Buchanan Galleries , extra parking and an office building but that was cancelled very quickly.
  11. The Rough Guide to Cells of Scotland? Or the Lonely Planet cell guide
  12. Derry, not a good idea, most custody suites are full on a Sunday and the courts are usually full on a Monday. Best to go in on Monday night.
  13. Ah well, it looks like plan B then Hoose, lie low until Monday then arrange to go in on Monday night but no later than 1am, best of luck and hopefully everything goes smoothly for you
  14. Exactly, don’t do that, it will mean a weekend lie in sounds daft but if you have to hand yourself in do it on a Monday night, all the weekend custodies are gone and that means the custody area is a hell of a lot quieter
  15. Hoose, Give your local police office a call, let them know that you’re aware that there is a warrant for you and that you intend to surrender yourself, you can arrange a time with them to hand yourself in. Also let your solicitor know so they can attend the office as well. Make sure that the police are aware that you are on medication and want to bring it with you, they may say no to that but request that they call the on call doctor who can dispense medication to you at the station. Try and arrange a time as late as possible to cut down your time in the station but don’t leave it too late as you may miss the court cutoff time for appearing the next day. I was a Police officer until I retired a few years ago but practice may have changed in the time that I have been retired.
  16. Mrs and I were talking about this last night, late 80’s Paisley had all the main banks of the day along with at least two sub branches of the main banks and loads of building societies. Now just the main banks and a handful of building societies. At least a dozen branches gone in the last few decades.
  17. In the late 80’s I drove from Paisley to Plymouth on the September weekend Friday, left at 7am and was in Plymouth by 2pm without rushing. Last year headed down to South Wales and it took nearly 8 hours. Constant 50mph zones for miles with no apparent signs of ongoing work and most definitely a heck of a lot more traffic
  18. There are some utterly disgusting people out there
  19. I know what you are saying you need to see more and more. I’m at the point where “do I need more or I’m I happy with what I have?” It’s a difficult question, for me it’s how much can I spend before the better half catches on
  20. I’d love one of those but as you say they are a bit pricey, I’m currently looking at a “smart “ scope possibly a Cassegrain type ,something like this https://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/celestron-starsense-explorer-dx-5-inch-sct
  21. Can I recommend something like a 4" Newtonian Reflector as a starter scope. Easy to handle and you can put it away in a cupboard. It'll give you a start at a reasonable price with a good magnification to see Saturn, Mars and Jupiter is reasonably good definition. Something like this would be a good starter https://amscope.co.uk/products/iqcrew-35x-350x-76mm-reflector-telescope-with-adjustable-tripod-stand?variant=39900988637249&currency=GBP&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnNacBhDvARIsABnDa6-dvvd6UOcG2j-C-_bgz_spC5o8VdbI6-v7rZ6qxHC3Jkztg9rvi2oaArr6EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds although it's a bit smaller at 3" PS Don't think that the Barlow lens will give you extra magnification , it won't it just means it's a bigger image but no extra detail, you'll need a bigger scope for that. Anyway get one it's fantastic looking at the night sky.
  22. Pulled the plug on work and now officially retired. Also told by builder that the new house is ready to move in in the next few weeks, now heading to pub for a few ales
