  1. Anyone still bitter about a football game 20 odd years ago need a long look at themselves Yup. Pie and Bovril's actually awright for that, most the Hearts fans on here are actually ok.
  2. There was loonball on Twitter when the Friday night game was called off, accusing Saints of 'cheating again'. He doubled down for a bit when people started putting him back in his box, claiming he had actual evidence it had happened in '86 (someone told him it had, basically) and then he just started blocking people. He also failed to elaborate on how calling a game off when the town was flooded amid some of the worst storms we've seen for many years amounted to cheating, but there ya go. The daft c**t. This is him. It's weird, you wouldn't know he was fucking deranged from his profile.
  3. If only Celtic did football like their supporters did wit.
  4. As alright as he was against Aberdeen, he has a very stiff running style. You could tell he was having issues then. It's such a shame as he has a tonne of talent. If it's a chronic issue then he needs a second opinion or something.
  5. Similar with the Aberdeen game. Chabbi comes on for his debut. All the chat in the build up to him signing was about his connection with Durmus. The two of them had an extended chat as Chabbi took to the field. I got excited: they've clearly got the cheat codes for hunners of goals. Then 10 minutes later, Durmus gets hooked. I mean, FFS.
  6. The issue I've got there is that that confounds the theory that 'he's learning on the job'. I'd be inclined to give the guy another year even if we go down - and I was saying the same about Kearney, because we've got to stop this one manager per year cycle. But it's tactics and subs that will bemuse fans and turn them against a manager, especially when we're failing to lay a glove on teams in game after game.
  7. Optimistic. I doubt you'll bring more than 250. Edit: Ross Wallace comes into the middle in place of Cammy MacPherson. Interesting. FWIW, while Cammy is very tidy, I do think he slows us down a bit. Perhaps RW will offer a more forward-looking option. Not to mention a fucktonne more experience.
  8. Our ballers clearly struggled with the conditions on Saturday more than Aberdeen's more agricultural personnel. Hopefully the best pitch in Scotland will be in decent nick and we can get the ball down and move it around quickly tonight. Word is Jakubiak was ill, which explains why he was poor and hooked at half time, but has recovered now. I expect the same team to start, despite McAllister looking half decent.
  9. It's the defender that briefly backs off with his arms spread. Actually doesn't bother me, for the record. You had f**k all to play for. We only had ourselves to blame for where we were.
  10. Yep. It's your loan signing of Alan Main for your game against Accies that's giving me the real fear.
  11. This was a post made prior to the cup game, and was clearly referring to head-to-head games in which, in the league, it's a one-goal win apiece and a draw. So, yeah, nothing between us. As I said. Other than that, good point well made, mate.
  12. Must be nice to be in a position to make changes. We will be playing the four fit defenders we have (we have five when they're all fit). We'll be playing the two fit CMs we have, two of three fit wingers (McAllister clearly can't run properly) and the 2/6 forwards that appear to be in favour. The only possible change I can see is maybe Andreu back in at 10, or maybe McGrath at 10 with Morias wide.
  13. We didn't need Jakubiak, Obika and Durmus to have off-nights tonight, but they were all very poor. McAllister pulled all the strings when he came on and was the game's best player in the second half. Sadly, those strings he was pulling weren't really attached to anything. We really are worryingly uncreative pretty much all the time, though Aberdeen controlled/stifled us superbly. Ah well. At least now we can concentrate on creating no chances in the league instead.
  14. Left ourselves with a mountain to climb here.
  15. At least Kyle McAllister is asking questions. Sadly the questions are all 'where's all the fucking movement?' Edit: 100% a yellow for Devlin there.
  16. ^^^ The guy speaks a lot of sense when he's not in troll mode, tbf.
  17. Completely agree. I also think a bigger league would give clubs more breathing space to develop young players.
  18. See, weirdly, I don't know if we've got that much deadwood, and I don't think we need a clear out. You could upgrade us in a lot of positions, but we're certainly far from the car crash we were five years ago. I admit that might all sound daft given our current situation, but I think we're an improving side.
  19. No true St Mirren fan would ever talk in those terms. And therein lies the rub.
  20. Yeah. I thought we were safe from him given that he'd been farmed out to watch Ayr chuck it vs a rabble of Championship relegation candidates, but any chat that extends beyond 'trying to be safe' needs to die in a ditch.
  21. Yeah: the radio team were being positive about Saints last night, saying how far clear we could be (essentially safe) if we win our two games against Hearts. My head instantly converts that to the equal and opposite outcome if we lose those games.
  22. I'm predicting an absolute cracker. 3-2 to somebody. Eminently winnable game for both sides, though of course Aberdeen are slight favourites. Our game at Fir Park last week showed what we can do when the pressure of the league is off us. It also showed how fragile our confidence is.
  23. There's been absolutely nothing between us and Aberdeen this season, and we've shaded them at home. We were arguably unlucky to lose away, too. As you've said, they have to be slight favourites, but it could absolutely go either way.
