    I don't know much about him, but from what I've seen on Youtube, he appears to play through the middle. With Magennis struggling with injuries this season, this leaves us with a potential middle three of Tansey, McGinn and Lyons, but also still leaves us desperate for wide players.

    Any diddy club hoping to bring in talent in January (or, let's face it, any time) is going to be looking at players who haven't had the best time of it recently. Saints have made a big deal about doing transfers the right way after the catastrofuck that was Alan Stubbs and Darren Jackson, so I'm reasonably confident he'll be able to prove his fitness and do a job for us.

    I'd concur with that. He needs lots of movement around and in front of him to create space, and to get on his passes. It's something we've lacked this season, but had in abundance last year. You'll need that to get the best out of him. He edged Morgan as my poty last year; I think he's a great signing for you.

    Looks like it's been resolved now, going by the reliable @glenburn bud on the Saints thread. Undisclosed fee would be my prediction. I bet it matches the £25k we're meant to have coughed up so far for Heaton.

    Yeah, we'll probably just hope to cover our Josh Heaton losses. But he's a great player at Champ level and shouldn't be letting him go for nothing. Especially as it's not crazy to imagine we'll be playing against the Arabs at the back end of this season.

    He's a less good Stephen McGinn. Not quite got it at this level. A good squad player at the right end of the championship; a great signing for a team fighting relegation. He's one of those deep-sitting midfielders that isn't really a spoiler/destroyer, but can move the ball about pretty well and link defence and attack. He's also a top shagger and a very attractive man, which I understand is important to you lot.

    If you're serious about getting this title tilt over the line, he would be a phenomenal signing for you. And, as DJC has pointed out, it's not out the question.

    I think those numbers seem to be about right. It's pretty easy to form a list of 10 players that we wouldn't miss for a single second, plus a couple of others that seem to be not performing/out of favour. I believe that'd leave us with a squad of 23. It might even just be four in.
