  1. If that's true, then fair enough. Whatever it takes. Gathering financial support like that can make all the difference. I'd be very disappointed if we miss out on Loy, but other strikers are available: I just hope we can find a good one who'll join us.
  2. Cheers for that. Strong implication there that the Davis deal isn't happening, then. I like the way Fowler talks, though; he comes across very well. When Barcelona do eventually come in for Ross, I'd be reasonably happy if Fowler was handed the reins.
  3. A genuinely itk poster on the Saints forum has hinted you've got Loy.
  4. According to wikipedia, he's a 'striker striker'. We've not had that sort of player since Djemba-Djemba. I'm not sure he's really what we need and I foresee a Falkirk-esque meltdown if he signs for us.
  5. If you're missing that panic/in-fighting, have a glance at the Falkirk thread.
  6. Jack Ross says we could be looking to bring in between two and four more players, depending on whether newly-promoted youth team players Nathan Flanagan and Darren Whyte (winger and CH/DM respectively), are sent out on loan or kept with the senior squad. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/st-mirren-boss-jack-ross-10652357 Article mentions that Jack Ross was on holiday for a bit. First I'd heard of it, TBH...
  7. If you can't develop both sides of your stadium, then why should he smile with both sides of his face?
  8. Ah, that's interesting: I've not seen it myself, but someone on B&WA says Jack Ross is in the local press today, also playing down the likelihood of the transfer. Perhaps both our clubs have had the same feedback.
  9. ^^^ Stealth Bairns crowdwank post, IMO. Reports this morning that the Loy deal is very much up in the air. I hope we're starting to line up alternatives in case he does decide to go to Falkirk.
  10. We still have a bit of work to do, but you're right, there is at least a clear plan in place. I think Loy's choice of destination will be a big one and will determine which of our clubs finishes highest.
  11. Safe to say Jack knows where we need to strengthen. I like the idea of getting three of the same in to see which is best. Normally our trialists seem to be a total mixed bag of chancers, usually arriving in August when we're shiting ourselves about lack of squad depth. Honest to f**k, how refreshing is it to have a manager to seems to be seeing the same squad gaps that we all see?
  12. 'Stealing' is one word for it... the real world equivalent would be when you've got a shite car so you park it in Greenock with the windows open and the keys in the ignition
  13. He was behind Gowser in the pecking order, and Gowser was better. You only need to see the way he put that goal away against the dead club to know there was a hell of a player in there somewhere, though. (Edit: just seen you've posted that near word for word while I was making the gif! ) f**k it, any excuse...
  14. The system is broken if Sevco (and Celtic) can hoover up all the best talent, dump them on the scrapheap whenever they want, and then expect some sort of compensation for all the players that they've ditched.
  15. If he signed on for an extra year, I'd consider it. Wait... what?
