  1. Actually, looking now, I think it's only til next summer. He was contracted til 2017, then signed year extension. I think the Tweet must be wrong. FFS!
  2. I think it's more likely that they have simply failed to update the lad's profile page. That Twitter post from last August seems far more conclusive to me.
  3. That's a broken link - sorry if I'm being whooshed. If he did sign an extension, that's amazing news, obviously. Edit: here's another link: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lewis-morgan/profil/spieler/311351 Great stuff. I've spent months thinking the clock was ticking there and wondering why nobody seemed that fussed Didn't realise he was a DM. That changes things. We deffo need cover/company for McGinn. Was worried he was yet another 'wanna play the number 10 role but will sit out wide if I have to' players, which, let's face it, we're never short of.
  4. Yeah, that's the fella. The one we're looking at doesn't seem to have have played much 1st team football... anywhere, tbh.
  5. Ah, this is my 2,000th post. Best make it a good one. What to say, what to say... This'll do: Now off you f**k.
  6. I see VT's fortnightly scramble for relevance on the big team's thread has started again.
  7. It doesn't make a lot of sense, tbf. You leave our manager alone, we (hopefully) take Loy off your hands, and you come to us for a game, too. TBH, it's almost certainly that the clubs have been in contact a lot over the summer, you got your first choice man in charge, we kept ours, so everyone's happy and we can all just move on with our lives. Oh, and fancy a warm-up game while we're at it?
  8. It does make sense that we would have offered you a glamour friendly to smooth things over.
  9. Maybe that's it. Could we let them keep the gate receipts in lieu of a transfer fee? Not sure how (if) that'd work. And it wouldn't be very much, tbf. Probably muster £10k, at an absolute max.
  10. It's the 'no hard feelings' friendly. Probably lined up as part of the Loy deal.
  11. Not sure I agree with that. You can be presented with a sitter, which you either score, or, if you're Chris Iwelumo, you miss. Hence 'missed a sitter'.
  12. I remember Falkirk fans telling us Higdon was shite. I'm happy to trust Jack's judgement (or James') and give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
  13. Jack Ross. He sent Stelios away to watch Top Gun so he understood the reference
  14. We are going to be a quick, busy, nippy team next year. There was that Albion fan said Stewart was pretty mobile for a man of his height, too. Spurs-style pressing from the front, would be my guess. Of course, they've got a Wanyama sitting in there for security...
  15. Obviously that's what we're hoping. I believe it's known as doing a Carswell. Seems Ross has been after him for most the summer (so far) so he's clearly seen a player there somewhere. On Sutton, he could well be 5th in line to start up front (that's a bit of a generalism: Smith won't play the same position as Sutton) so can't see why he'd stick around.
  16. I bet we wouldn't stand in John Sutton's way if he wanted to leave. I'm still confident (based on nothing) that we'll get Loy. I'd like to see a DM/CM come in, still, to give us 4-2-3-1 as an option, and to provide cover for McGinn the rest of the time. And the 'Davis to return' rumours won't go away - and seem to be coming from credible sources. So, Davis, Loy and a CM, and I think that'll be our business done unless Celtic have a gifted right winger they want to loan us.
  17. In the interests of providing a public service, I think I need to post this gif again.
  18. Rumours growing stronger that Harry Davis is coming back. Amazing signing if it works out, and worth the risk given his current injury, imo. If we were going into a Premier League season with Stelios, Davis, Gary Mac and Eckersley, I'd be feeling pretty comfortable. Great for this level.
  19. He's a lad who's trying to forge a career as a reporter. Loves Saints; very enthusiastic. He's obviously doing a good job of getting closer to the club as he broke that news last night. He's a wheelchair user - I think he was the guy who was in a lot of the pictures when the raised disabled viewing area was opened.
