  1. If we can get 100k and a sell on clause it would be the best business we’ve done in a long time because I just dont see how he’s getting hyped up so much, good luck to the lad, I hope he proves me and others wrong and turns into a top player. With prize money and players sold we’d have made over 200k already this season before any prize money for league finishes. I’d use some of that to offer contracts to existing players, I’d also be very tempted to use a small proportion of that to try and bring in a striker, if we make the playoffs 4th place is worth around 270k in prize money, over 300k if we finish 3rd, a striker may be the last part of the puzzle that could take us there, add in an extra game at home with a decent crowd think the risk may be worth the reward.
  2. Indeed, barring youth players he is, it was one of the reasons we signed him. Where are you going to get a striker for that price anywhere ? Our top earners are on around the £600pw mark. Put it this way, I’m told that one individual at QoS, I’m sure you can guess who is on more than 4 of our top earners.
  3. Dylan Mackin is on around the £250 a week mark and one of the reasons why we signed him.
  4. All looks too long and complicated, will take your word for it
  5. Been hunting for that everywhere, I’m pretty sure Edinburgh City have well over 4 loan players at the club right now, but could be completely wrong.
  6. “Been” He’s a legend with Falkirk fans but even they think he’s passed it for this level. Given only two players have scored double figures in this league so far means better players than those two will be lucky to score double figures also. Try and find a striker on £250 a week elsewhere in this league, that’s the constraints the club has when trying to sign players.
  7. I keep seeing a loan quota brought up, what is the actual rule ? As far as I was aware it was maximum of 1 loan player from 1 team in the same division and maximum 2 players from the same side from a different division but didn’t know anything about a maximum amount of loan signings. Given Edinburgh City have about 8 loans I’d be surprised to see a maximum for loan signings.
  8. Agree, don’t see a need for him when we have two players that are very similar, no point in wasting a wage.
  9. RWB, was really struggling to cope, if they where going to score that’s where it was going to come from, perhaps a bit of rustiness and being out of position.
  10. Looks like he’s had a good spell out on loan, he may also be able to offer us something but let’s not kid ourselves, it’s a massive step up, wouldn’t be adverse to giving the lad a chance though but would still rather see us bring a proven striker in for this level.
  11. No thanks, he’s not played above league 2 for about 4 years.
  12. Very happy if this is the case, I’ll believe it as soon as the window is shut and he’s still a Livi player though
  13. I really don’t see a player that doesn’t roll his sleeves up, Josh has been a player that’s played right wing back all season, a position that you have to get up and down the pitch, if anything he is one of the harder working players in the team, imo anyway. He hasn’t played well in recent weeks, you are right, perhaps his heart isn’t quite in it anymore and he wants to get something else sorted ? I hope he stays but everything points to him leaving, for the same reasons as Danny Mullen.
  14. Keaghan Jacobs didn’t play well today, he probably wasn’t fully fit and played out of position, so hardly a fault of his own, Josh Mullin would’ve been the obvious choice to replace him but we didn’t bring him on. That tells me everything I need to know. He’ll be away this transfer window, Id be surprised if he wasn’t that’s for sure.
  15. He’s in the situation that Danny Mullen was, he’s indicated he isn’t going to sign a new contract so we have made him available to other teams, obviously we don’t want him to get injured so we can get something for him this month. Wouldnt surprise me if he’s the other midfielder St Mirren are signing. Only time will tell though.
  16. I think a big indication is we played Keaghan out of position on the right today and he struggled but we stuck with him while Mullin remained on the bench for 90 minutes.
  17. I agree Josh Mullin is a better player, that’s why he’s had interest from premiership clubs and Barr is playing in League 1, but going back to realism, Bobby Barr is exactly the type of player we have to go for, a player in the league below that has potential to do us a decent turn for a season or two and won’t be on a lot of money.
  18. Funny you say that, I also saw that tweet and thought the same thing, if we do indeed lose Josh Mullin, Bobby Barr would be a decent replacement for sure. Not sure how much is in that though.
  19. We do run initiatives, think we gave away a few hundred season tickets to local sports clubs, schools etc but they had to apply. We also offered season tickets at £18 for under 12s, sadly we are sorely lacking any kind of marketing, that is what we are lacking the most, if you aren’t a fan of the club you probably wouldn’t know about these deals or if there was even a game on at Livingston on a Saturday. Everything is done by volunteers, we are basically running a full time club but with part time staff and wages. Ive often said I’d quite happily have 1 less player and employ a full time marketing person, nothing would happen straight away but we should be looking at a club like Motherwell who are being marketed the right way and are seeing the benefits with crowd increases.
  20. Great reading the last couple of pages, as has been said I feel a lot of our fans are so unrealistic and stuck in the past and it’s really not helping. At the start of the season fans read unrealistic transfer targets, Andy Ryan was a target but we got blown out the water wages wise by Dunfermline, but some weren’t happy we didn’t match the 1k a week wage, crazy. I read somewhere someone wanting Rory McAllister, everyone in Scottish Football knows he’s never going full time, he’s making a lot more at Peterhead than he ever would going full time, especially with us. We've got to be realistic, we have a fan base of around 800-1000 on a good day, that will only get us so far, it’s really simple, without increased crowds we will be a selling club and a stepping stone for the best players, we are signing, on the whole league 1 players and trying to improve them, and players that drop down the divisions because they aren’t getting game time, it’s sad but it’s reality, this season I’m enjoying every minute while I can because as is already happening this team will be torn up next season. Tbh, I’m very happy to see the Club looking after it’s finances and not doing anything daft to put the Club at risk in the long term. Regardless of what happens, staying in this league should be seen as success, it will in my view but I fear many won’t be happy if we don’t make the playoffs.
  21. Josh Mullin would be my guess, as im told he’s another that has said he won’t be signing a new contract in the summer and like Mullen we are looking to offload for a fee. Motherwell have also been sniffing about him the last season and a half.
  22. Buchanan coming to us as far as I’ve been told, training at the club now.
  23. Gregor Buchanan training with us and likely to sign. Good signing, exactly what we needed, another CB. Likelyhood is we will see 1 or 2 move on, rumour has it Carrick to Airdrie but no sure how much is in that.
  24. Trying to get 2 in this week coming. I don’t know any names though. Would certainly expect 1 to be a centre back and we are crying out for a striker.
  25. Mid term report card, pretty much sums it up perfectly for me. https://t.co/iI6Y1NItoq
