  1. Apologies if this has been mentioned, but where might I be able to stream this on my laptop? I'm working so quite unable to head to a pub.
  2. Not sure about the racism, but he was absolutely the player of the tournament at the last Euros. Lovely player.
  3. A pal of mine was bullied so bad it made national news. He was the classic specky introvert who was clever and wasn't the faintest bit interested in football. He's in his 30's now and it still affects him. I mind our head teacher giving it big licks every week about bullying, but there was never anything done about it. Teachers didn't give a shit. There was a boy in my year who should never have been in mainstream education. He was also the classic smelly kid so he never stood a fucking chance. He got it tight or his entire school career. I Lee Wallaced to the deputy head when I was in 6th year, so he got some protection after that, but it was a bit too late. I've definitely been a bully at work, mainly when I was in hospitality. I hid behind the "doesn't suffer fools gladly" and would steamroller over people who dared to question my highly thought through and undoubtedly correct wisdom, and would yield my condescending sarcasm quite heavily too. It would have qualified as bullying tbh and I should have been pulled up for it.
  4. I grew up in a pretty staunch neighbourhood. All my neighbourhood pals and seemingly at lest three quarters of the local lads were cream buns. I was about as catholic as can be, and it was no secret either. We went to mass every Sunday, to Carfin for random feast day celebrations and I was also an altar boy. I never heard a peep of sectarian shite come my way for the entirety of my upbringing. Not a bit. I was a known Jags fan, so my catholicism was pretty much irrelevant to them. In fact, weirdly, whenever they would sing Billy Boys after a title/old firm win they'd put their arm around me and expect me to fucking join in, as they knew I didn't like Celtic either. I know this is just anecdotal evidence, but I haven't heard of sectarian or anti-irish abuse outwith the context of Old Firm rivalry. I honestly think that the sectarianism we have in this country is now completely separate from the religions it purports to involve. It's a divide tied up in the social identity of being a fan of either Celtic or Rangers and is honestly just a source of vexation to those practising catholics and protestants (all 57 varieties) who have no truck with either team.

    Modern Love

Haven't seen a thread for this so here we are. I only started watching this today but bloody hell I wasn't expecting this at all. I was honestly expecting some shite like "Easy", but I've been blown away by this. The cast of the first three episodes is top notch, especially episodes 2 and 3. I haven't went beyond that, but I'm just emotionally recovering from Hathaway's turn in episode 3. Beautifully moving. She reminded me of her performance in "Love and Other Drugs" in which she was also adept at having me crying buckets. I can't wait for the rest of this series.
  6. Ffs. I saw the "reporting for duty" thing and hoped that KT was somehow clear of his injury. Anybody here follow him on Twitter or anything? A wee bit of news would be nice.
  7. No headband option? Fine. My da loves a hat. Absolutely loves them. Specifically bunnets. He has a big baw face (quoth Mater Army) so doesn't suit any hat. Especially his daft Balmoral bunnet, which he wears, complete with clan badge. An absolute riddy.
  8. As @LiviLion said I'll only be sans fitba for the month of July, and I'll hopefully spend the entirety of that watching re-runs of our goals against Ukraine and Wales and the various celebration videos resulting from it. If that doesn't come to pass then I'll hopefully hae a bike again by then and will take myself off on wee mini adventures.
  9. Tom Cruise is one of my favourite actors so I can't wait for this. That is all.
  10. Maybe comparing it to The Sound of Music was a bit harsh. That'd put anyone off. ^^^ Mrs was pumped by a lonely goatherd type post.
  11. "We're off to join the samurai-R.A, and we're off tomorrow morn".
  12. Sadly I'm in full view, which is why I've had to hold the laughter in. This fella is chuntering on with messages "from the spirit world" and it's such by the numbers pish. I'm here with a service user which is why I can't fucking leave. I grew up in religion, but this is another level of gullibility. Ach I'm grumpy as I'm fed up with this job, but right now I feel like I'm in a Louis Theroux documentary.
  13. Currently sitting in a service at Aberdeen Spiritualist Church. Fucking hell.
  14. They were utter pish. It was nice enough, although my neighbourhood seemed to be mostly staunch so it took the shine off it a bit. Beating them a couple of times in that period was delightful, including a 3-1 pumping at Hampden.
  15. Almost two days this has been up and nobody's said it. Wid.
  16. Aye? I think it's bonnie. They're obviously going for the nostalgia pound as it harks back to one of your 1990's efforts.
  17. Nobody is saying Simon Donnelly will be in the squad mate.
