  1. John Higgins might make a good outside bet. What's the current odds on him winning the tournament?
  2. I'm pretty sick of the sight of Anna Soubry. That woman does my head in to no end.
  3. Getting into the top tier in only your fourth year of existence. Should make any fan feel proud of their club. However, now is where the real challenge begins. Now that you can't bring in players from the higher tiers. I expect Sevco to be subjected to many humbling defeats and frustrating draws next season, as they struggle to compete with the likes of Hearts and Aberdeen. Never mind Celtic
  4. As far as I'm concerned, the folk who want to see this being nationalized. Have no right to complain about banks getting bailed out, as it's no different. It creates moral hazard and a too big too fail culture.
  5. The problem with the Labour party isn't Corbyn. It's the PLP itself. There is too many Blarite careerists sitting in parliament who need to be moved on. Something I'm hoping Corbyn can make inroads into. Regardless of what happens during the next election.
  6. Noticed they're blabbering on multi-nationals not paying their taxes. As I've said in the past. The problem is not that there's all these loopholes, but the fact that the tax system is so complicated to begin with. I'll give Angus Robertson some credit for trying to touch on that point.
  7. Seems to me those intake guidelines in general are getting stricter over time. I do worry what kind of long term agenda is behind it. This guideline is almost as much bs as the red meat causing you cancer last year. Not that I'm worried about the guideline since I'm already well within it most weeks. The only time I do any serious drinking is on Birthday''s, Christmas's and New Year's.
  8. It's more of an image problem the Tories have than anything else; rather than people not being receptive to their policies. Anyone who remembers Thatcher or can readily talk to people with first hand accounts of her will be put off voting Tory. The Tories would need a complete revamp or have to wait for a whole new generation of voters.
  9. It's situations like this which makes me wish I had an amphibious car.
  10. To me it's between Fury and Murray. IMO a Davis Cup win is a more special compared to being a unified heavyweight boxing champ.
  11. Here's all the Labour MP's who voted for the strikes.
  12. I wouldn't say "do nothing", but I would much rather engage in sanctions which are designed to cripple them financially. As the old saying goes, as long as you continue to feed the lion, it will stay. The problem is, the military industrial complex is deeply embedded in government, and they have plenty of shill politicians and useful idiots who'll do their bidding. Sadly, whats good for military contractors works against everyone else's common interests.
  13. War is a result of government. No large scale and sustained war can happen without it. Whose buying those arms? Not some corporation I tell you. It's the Saudi government. Eventually they'll come a time in the not too distant future where they can't or won't fund those jihadists. The IMF have already reported the Saudi regime will be bankrupt by the end of the decade if they continue to run their finances in the manner they have.
  14. The importance of the EU has shot up dramatically within the last couple of years. There is a migrant crisis, which is being exacerbated as a result of EU laws and we're having a referendum on EU membership within a year or two. Also, QT isn't meant to be "focused" on any specific area. Other than the most pressing subjects that week.
  15. UKIP have the biggest number of MEP's. So your claim about them being overly represented on QT is invalid.
  16. The situation will fix itself in time. The worst part of it from a SLAB perspective is that they haven't even hit rock bottom yet. They won't be making a comeback till we're in a independent Scotland and the SNP have notably declined from what we've become accustomed to now. One of the first things they need to do is split from their London branch, but sadly the political will doesn't exist.
  17. TBF, few economists understand that, let alone politicians and even less so political commentators. A nation can't "live within it's means" as a whole, because to do so is deflationary. Fixing the economy requires radically altering it, and that's not going to happen till we get an almighty crash. Something far worse than 2008.
  18. Well tbf, it's to the advantage of the economically and politically powerful to have things that way. There is a reason why MSM is dumbed down and schools don't teach you to critically think. It's all about making sure the legitimacy of certain institutions and practices are never meaningfully called into question.
  19. Jurassic World (7.5/10) Far better than I was expecting it to be. Despite the backstory being hard to believe. I mean come on, people are bored of coming to a theme park populated by cloned dinosaurs after just 10 years? Chris Pratt played a very good lead role, and was a much more honest version of an alpha male character. Claire's character was just not likable at all. For a start there is no way given the attitude's of the park owner could someone like her find herself in that position. Her character traits are also inconsistent and hence is not a believable character. She displays type 1 psychopath traits early on, but they don't show up in the second half of the movie. So I would have to assume it's more a case of her being incompetent at doing her job and perhaps a case of the writers trying to have a politically correct character. Rather than one that would act in a logical way. Worst of all, at the end she makes no attempt at an apology or gratitude after everything that happened during the course of the movie.
  20. Tonight's show has Energy Secretary Andy Rudd Shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham Deputy Chairman of Ukip Suzzanne Evans Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis Editor of The Spectator Fraser Nelson Should be a decent show tonight, even if the audience is bad.
  21. I'm well aware development of the game dates back to 94, with the intention of releasing it on the Saturn. There was a trailer of it that emerged a few years back. It might not look like much now, but the footage is beyond what I thought was possible for the 32-bit era. I suspect that $70m is likely due to Shenmue 1+2 being worked on simultaneously and done with the intention of pumping out multiple sequels down the line. Marketing is entirely separate and is the responsibility of the publisher.
  22. I get that I'm largely dealing with liberally minded people who have no experience with guns and have all kinds of pre-conceived notions of them. If the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about guns is some kind of mass shooting. Then all of your arguments against them are going to be emotionally driven. Just to make it clear, while I have experience with guns. I have never owned or intend to own one. While it's easy to see someone dying as a result of getting shot for whatever reason. It's harder to see how many crimes have been prevented out of fear someone is or might be armed. How often has a crime been diffused merely because someone introduced a gun into the situation?
  23. The people who should be getting thanked are Sega who're allowing Yu Suzuki to use this IP. After all, there was a situation where someone tried to do a kickstarter with Castlevania recently, but weren't allowed and ended up having to call the game something else. What I don't get is how can it be possible to make a AAA like Shenmue for just a 7 figure sum in this day and age? Don't forget the original costed $70m and that was back in 99 (OK, that is a dubious claim, but was done for marketing purposes).
