Didn’t really lay a glove on Rangers but didn’t look like getting pumped, we know the frailties in the team and they were only exploited twice against one of the top teams in the country.
No embarrassment and a good payday.
NEXT.

The arrogance of Old Firm fans is staggering. I got a jibe about a visit to a real stadium or some equally tragic patter. I was at work so unfortunately I couldn't tell them to f**k off!
It's wee patronising pats on the head every other week, like - you should take our youth team on loan, they'd help you win that league. Then when they play you and win - HAHAGIRFUY!
You have just spent the last year saying we were a wee poor diddy club with no pace in Scottish football and then react like you've beat Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Had a brief conversation with a "Rangers fan" I went to school with, in town yesterday. I'm not sure he has been within 500 meters of Ibrox. Haven't spoken to him for maybe 20 years.
Him - You having a few drinks and watching the game tomorrow night?
Me - Aye, got a bottle of Champagne in to pop at full time
Him - Or you could stick it up your arse when your having a crywank later
They are different.

Wonder who they will drag up to be the Ayr pundit on Viaplay tomorrow. Or will they just abandon any impartiality and have Alan Hutton and Kevin Thompson because he played with Brown.

There is a difference between him running about a park getting abuse and him standing still for 90 minutes on the touch line getting it.
Him taking all the focus might keep the pressure of the players though, they’d normally have focused on players who were big Rangers/Celtic fans or players who had been at Rangers regardless of how many games, if any.

Despite people deciding Sanders and McHugh can play RB it's still unknown how true it is. May be more a case of being able to fill in but looking out of place rather than being an actual component natural full back or even an improvement on what we've got
McGinty once played LB for us against Inverness but not something I'm desperate to see again.
I would guess that if Brown would rather play Stanger at right wing back rather than the other two, he has no intention to play them there and we still need another right back

The shiteness of the other teams is the OFs biggest asset IMO.
I don't think I've ever seen two teams try so hard not to win a game.

Watching the game on the TV tonight and i think i'd rather we were going to face Celtic on Saturday which seems bonkers to say but they're rotten...
If Hibs weren't shite, Celtic would be in real bother

I can't see us not bringing a body in unless the quality available is grim. They obviously haven't speculated on the Ibrox money so we'll just have to wait until we get it to do something imo.
I would like to think we would bring someone in but we let our back up full backs go last Christmas as well and never replaced them.
We signed two players that can play at right back and still moved Stanger out there. I don't know what McCallisters stats are but he gets injured a lot and is in my top three for getting a daft red in the whole squad. Reading had been more than acceptable for the most part but needs cover.
I'd hope we'd have someone in before we go to Airdrie.

I don’t know what’s more strange, this dobbers relentless shitposting or our new forum police Sargent @mugen_power and detective @ryanayr1987

It’s the same every time something remotely interesting happens at Ayr, the usual mutant virgins appear to try and make it all about them

gonnae need @ryanayr1987 backing me up when I run out of riddies again today I see
We have tried for 3 weeks to get did of him, ignoring him and red dotting him. It’s the Mods you need to be going after.

We might even stick with Matondo since he is getting goals but he got hooked last night and never looked happy
Wright is good for a goal though always is in the cups and he'll need a game
Just to let you know as you seem to be completely unaware, people are tearing you up for arsepaper here.

Either we will get humped 5-6-7 nil or we will be in the game until the 70th minute when they take a two goal lead, then score a third and maybe fourth late on to make it look like a routine victory.
Our only hope is, they pack the team with kids, which I doubt because they are still very much trying to gel a team. Or the manager and players don’t show the respect the competition deserves and we catch them cold. It is always dodgy when you have a team filled with mediocre non-home born players and they think playing a team they have never heard of will be a walk in the park. It is normally the way with cup shocks down south.

This feels like my companies annual statement.
Start of the year,- we are the tits, money coming out our pores, absolutely crushing it.
Annual pay Review time- capital investments, poor market, downturns.I’m sure we will hear Mathie and Smith in the summer telling us about fine margins and heavy expenditures when it comes to incoming transfers. It’s always the way.

FWIW I think Ayr’s new “stand” looks pretty rubbish tbh. Losing what I remember to be a big chunk of reasonably iconic terracing at Somerset and replacing it with hospitality space. One step towards the Lego-fication of Somerset Park, I’m afraid.
We are losing 2 steps of terracing

I was talking to my mum about Games she took me to (And threw me over the turnstile at) when I was younger.
Her favourite was a game that had all seasons in it, the pitch having to have the snow sweeped, the footballs being changed to neon because of the snow, snowball fights with away fans at the seggie fence and it ending in Ayr winning in penalties Doesn't remember who Ayr were playing though.
She was pregnant with my sister at the time, so I'm guessing it was around 2000? Does anybody know who Ayr were playing?
Dundee I'm pretty sure, extra times was delayed while they cleared the lines on the pitch of snow, which is just what you want when you are freezing your tits off waiting on the game ending.

Just watched the highlights, The referee basically got Stanger sent off, missed a straight leg, studs up challenge, then gives a free kick for something that isn't even a free kick, then gives him a harsh booking for saying f**k off.
Moult doesn't get even a yellow and Sibbald had at least 5 yellow card challenges and escaped any bookings, Dempsey was booked for not being involved in the rammy.

Think the reds only cross over competitions if they are for dangerous play.

Anyone remember how many budgie played for us. He was a character but can’t mind if was any good. Was also about 50 when he played for us
He signed in the summer and played in the pre-season friendlies, he conceded a huge amount of goals, think it was 15 in 3 games then quitting the club on the Friday evening before a league cup game against Celtic so I don’t think he never actually played a competitive game.
We signed Billy Lamont who always played a blinder against us for Cowdenbeath, he played in the Celtic game but I can’t remember who came in after that.1 -

Can someone please explain Ross Docherty? Didn't rate him when he was with us and can't see how he's captain of Dundee United. What does he actually do? Other than his goal I don't remember him doing anything else. He doesn't exactly boss their midfield IMO
He’s a type of player who does things you don’t notice until he’s gone. He disrupts play a lot just by getting in the way.

Don’t recall that at all to be honest. Thought the defence played well and McAllister going off was the trigger for the defence suddenly looking very shaky. McAllister is limited and not the long term answer, but struggling to see how anyone could have major complaints with his performance today.
Playing a centre half on right wing weakened us but McCallister was dreadful defensively all game.

Tomlinson and Mutch deserve a lot of the credit tonight. Both played well in difficult circumstances Tomlinsom particularly.
