  1. "Why is everyone complaining about the Shipman advert. This is just the start. I am on a roll. Got some more lined up including the Titanic, the Hindenburg and the 9/11 attack. My personal favourite is the Bubonic Plague. The images are pretty disturbing but the caption is good. Hope the boss really likes it."
  2. Any aircraft that is ready for pushback is obviously still at the gate. Highly unlikely that ATC will be talking to them at that stage. I would be deeply concerned about an IT manager who clearly has failed to identify all the steps involved. Speaking of which, there is no mention of retracting the walkway or the steps up to the aircraft.
  3. Obviously they have to have a coronation. Otherwise some continental upstart might come along and say "hooray, the Queen is dead, I claim this island for Poland" or something like that. That's how they did it before.
  4. Hey, we are not savages. The Queen was around for a very long time and now she is gone. That's a lot to deal with. Out of respect for the family, I think the whole coronation thing should be some quiet affair somewhere private. After it is done, maybe post something on Twitter or Facebook or something. Keep it low key. That is what I think.
  5. He was over the moon when she was born - give or take a few years. Oh dear.
  6. I went to Cape Town in December 2019 but did not rent a car. I went on the Red Route Hop-On to go to Table Mountain. Then the Blue Route to see the Botanic Gardens and the Monkey House. I also went on a bus to the Cape of Good Hope and that trip included a visit to a beach where you walked on a wooden walkway and the penguins were just there in front of you.
  7. I think he would turn, turn, turn in his grave if you forgot to mention the other band he was with.
  8. In some parts of America it is regarded as socially unacceptable to walk.
  9. I remember watching Star Trek and somebody saying "You know every time I see William Shatner, I immediately think of T.J. Hooker".
  10. Actually you are wrong here. It is much earlier than that. It is Episode 3 of Season 5 and the show ran for 10 seasons.
  11. The younger generation will definitely not know what you are on about here. "That much cocaine will kill you!"
  12. There was also Captain Pugwash on the telly with Master Bates and Seaman Stains.
  13. Similarly there were Porn Cinemas that showed nothing else. Once video shops and the internet came along they had to switch to other films or close down. You would think that would be the end of the matter but no. I recall one woman who refused to go see a perfectly ordinary film at the Cameo in Edinburgh because it used to be a cinema like that. Now that I think about it, the cinema name was probably a clue.
  14. Can somebody check if Krakatoa has erupted again? That might be it. Then again, I am sure it would be mentioned on the news if it had.
  15. There are probably a whole list of phrases to do with using the operator to deal with a call. My favourite is an old Laurel and Hardy sketch where they enter a room and the phone rings. Laurel answers and says "It certainly is" and then hangs up. Hardy looks at him and says "Who was that?". Laurel replies "somebody on the phone said 'it is a long distance from Australia'".
  16. You forgot to mention Eddie Paskey who starred in 60 episodes, mostly as Lt Leslie. He starred in every episode of Season 2 despite his character being killed in episode 13 of that season. Oops.
