  1. So Bartley's lying then and Wilson didn't make it clear to him he didn't want to play another season in League 1?
  2. I don't think anyone has criticised his performances when he managed to play, apart from a game at ch when he was poor. His style of play has the potential to lead to injuries, he maybe suffered more than others and he seemed to be taking longer to recover, it's just strange that when a club want him on loan that he appears closer to fitness than expected. According to Bartley, Wilson made it clear in pre-season that he didn't want another season in League 1, not exactly the attitude you want from a player you ar going to rely heavily on. Good luck to him anyway, a pity that this spell here turned out to be so disappointing for both parties.
  3. Yes, I guessed that was the intended name, my response wasn't really seriously questioning if we had a player called Brandon.
  4. You can be all lovey-dovey with Annan if you want, I want them pumped as hard and as often as possible. Not sure what ref to Old Firm is about in your post, unless you have a soft spot for one of them. I'm a bit baffled as to why a QoS supporter would want any other Club in the division to have a successful season, the more that struggle the better it is for us.
  5. If the current squad aren't good enough to beat this shower then it's a signal that we really are in for a long slog of a season. Anything less than a two goal winning margin will be quite frankly embarrassing. The natural order must prevail.
  6. Was it worth updating the sign for the Annan game. Spending money getting a sign made when it will only be used twice in the league after they slide back down to basement division at the end of the season
  7. Well the BBC have an office in the Arena so should be an easy item to cover. Would much have preferred if they'd cut into coverage of today's Women's World Cup Semi-final though.
  8. Aye, I drove past Palmerston last night and it's still the same. Just take the whole sign down, better no sign than one that's not updated. At least the broken clock above the Oakbank Terrace is right twice a day.
  9. Coudn't remember the details but knew he had played at least one game at cb, which, as you say wasn't a great success.
  10. Disappointing that we never really saw the best of Wilson for a sustained period since he came back to us. As has been highlighted already he has been unlucky with injuries, maybe a result of his style of play. Maybe of course he didn't fancy another season in League 1. I don't think Imrie would take a gamble if he wasn't sure of getting game time from him. As for ourselves, we really need Cochrane to steer clear of injury and suspension (a tall order) if Wilson is not available to step in.
  11. Confess I've never been to the revamped Meadowbank Stadium but from posts by fans of several clubs who have been there it seems that it is a terrible facility to watch football at. I think the £11 charge reflects that view, and might still be overpriced.
  12. They should borrow the magic rope that Hibs had when they won the Championship at Easter Road. They strung a length of rope along the touchline to keep fans off the pitch, it seemed to work iirc.
  13. I'd hoped we'd left pitch invasions to the likes of Partick and Ayr fans. We've had plenty of important goals scored over the years but can't really recall many or any times when our fans have gone over the barriers to celebrate. We've gone on the pitch a couple time up when we've won titles at Forfar but not during games. It amazes me when players are booked for leaving the pitch or going over to the fans to celebrate a goal, but in big competitions like the Euros or World Cup, when they score players run to the sidelines and subs run onto the park without anything being done.
  14. It won't alter the fact that we are the BIG team in the Region.
  15. What! With no cushioned (maybe even heated) seating, maybe even a restricted view and possibly too far away from the buffet table at half time, can't see that catching on.
  16. Don't know if it's supporters being deliberately thick but the notion that having a big striker will mean nothing but launching high balls up via route one ad nauseum seems to be their main fear. It is possible to play "the modern way" with a tall physical striker to get on the end of crosses in from the wings when the ball players have played their fancy passing with movement and pace in the build up. If your striker is also fairly decent with the ball at his feet, who knows, he may also be able to contribute to playing "the modern way".
  17. Thought McGuffie was quite effective in the spell just before being subbed.
  18. I thought he was ok when Gibson came on, pushing us up the park on that side.
  19. Harsh on Logan, always going to be difficult playing out of position.
  20. He's pronounced Kelty the "wrong way" imo since he's started. I wonder if it annoys Keltonians as much as us being called Doonhammers. He's stopped doing a couple of annoying things like giving out the score after every goal and he reads the half time scores out properly now. All in all he's no bad. Not sure he pronounces McKay's name properly though.
  21. I was thinking the "Kelty" sign had been left so our PA man can see how it's spelt. Am I correct in saying its pronounced Kelty and not "Kealty" as he says it. Apologies in advance if I've been pronouncing it wrong all these years.
  22. Aye, comparing one game this season to the performance of our defence over all of last season seems logical.
  23. Which two is he better than? McKay? possibly, Brydon? don't think so, McClelland? raw and rash at times but has done ok, Ambrose? calm and experienced at the back, might get caught out for pace occasionally. East is good at carrying the ball out from the back but he has his flaws also. I wouldn't tear up my season ticket if he came back but I wouldn't be chasing him to return either.
