  1. Journey of the Sourcerer. Eagles. India. Joe Walsh. Albatross. Fleetwood Mac Jessica. Allman Brothers Band. David Bowie. The Speed of Life.
  2. It wasn't a Dire Straits tune. Solo Mark Knopfler, though the band did play it live.
  3. Finished Terror of the Zygons yesterday. Bugbears right from the start. It's set in Scotland. How can we tell? This, the Brigadier in a kilt, Nessie and much more. Not set in actual Scotland, but the shortbread tin type. Even finished with a joke about the Brigadier not saving money on a train ticket..."and you call yourself a Scotsman". So, a fair bit of cringe throughout. The middle two episodes were very good however. Sorry to see Harry go. I looked on wikipedia and it turns out the actor went on to write some novelisations of stories, before dying suddenly on his 42nd birthday. Real shame. Anyway, I've been watching this with Scott and last night he said that he much prefers the old stories to the new ones.
  4. I read it again recently too and agree with this. Interestingly, folk accused Glen A Larson of ripping off Star Wars when he made Battlestar Galactica. Harlan Ellison called him "Glen Larceny"
  5. Dwight Schultz is another one. Howling Mad Murdoch from the A-Team, Barclay from Star Trek, and a huge Trump fan. Has a radio show where he goes through all the usual right wing tropes.
  6. My niece's boyfriend went there and the salesman told him they don't allow test drives. They only allow them if he has already bought the car. He walked out too. Maybe got the same guy.
  7. Charles Leclerc has been told that there is no number 1 and number 2 Ferrari driver this year. Equal status. Not sure if this means much - Sainz keeps running out of talent when it matters.
  8. I can see why. Take this bit: asking ethical questions about genocide, killing off evil before it gets a chance and so on. Pushing the show in new ways.
  9. He was phoning it in a bit at the end, especially the rehash of Peladon.
  10. Marching along at pace with Tom Baker. Finished Genesis of the Daleks last night. When it started I thought "oh no, not these again". I have been starting to find the Dalek episodes the least interesting ones. But this was a very interesting take. Sarah Jane Smith seems much improved on last series. Maybe the chemistry between the actress and Tom Baker is better than it was with Jon Pertwee?Harry Sullivan is a good character also, almost back to the days of Ian. As for Tom Baker, I can see why he was so popular. He is far more like the modern Doctors than the previous actors were - fast talking, fast thinking, touch of comedy here and there.
  11. We're in an odd situation. I've never played the game and am just watching this as a TV show. Enjoying it, it's well written and well made and now we seem to have boiled it down to the actual storyline. The wife on the other hand has played the game (platinumed it, if that is a thing) and is taking a bit of umbrage at the show. Thinks the casting is "wrong" and the interactions between them not quite right.
  12. I find it the other way. The worse the accommodation, the better the excitement.
  13. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt...wait, £45 for a fucking top?
  14. To be fair, you should get a life ban just for this.
  15. The word "almost" implies some optimism somewhere.
  16. This announcement is getting a bit tantric. Taking ages.
