  1. Oh no. Not more chippy/chipper stuff, surely. That's the thread fucked for the weekend.
  2. I read this as Brockville. I assume it is utterly tremendous.
  3. Is this your attempt at smkoing out Oaksoft's latest account? "Well, in this instance if I were in charge of the company you're referring to I'd square up to them and stare them down. They'd know who was the boss and what was acceptable. All other workers would quiver in fear at first, then realise that they were all safe with me around looking out for them."
  4. The World at War is tremendous and should be mandatory viewing for everyone, once a year. I was taught it at (I think) Higher History. Standard Grade was the Russian Revolution and the build up to World War 1. Higher was the build up to WW2. Never got any Tudors, Stuarts, or anything like that. Certainly no Scottish history!
  5. Just been driving and listened to the 5 Live phone in (yes, i know - idiots with a megaphone). The callers can be categorised into the following camps: It's his adviser's fault He's apologised, leave him be This is outrageous and disgusting. Imagine if Jeremy Corbyn had done this.
  6. One episode down. Alright, apart from using a fire extinguisher to put out a fire...in space.
  7. Tories are not pleased with this.
  8. On a more general point about commemorations, I was a kid when the 50th anniversary stuff was going on. I remember going on holiday to Blackpool in 1990 and there were all kinds of things on there to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. First time I tried a zip wire. I can't remember the D-Day stuff from 94, but do remember going to watch them light the flares on the Ochil Hills in 95 to mark the end of the war. The 50th was a really big deal and as the years have passed - and, frankly, the remaining soldiers aged and passed away - it's become far less of a thing. The whole history of the second world war is far less known by kids now than it was.
  9. Dennon Lewis. If you want a yardstick of how far the club has come, compare his time with us to now.
  10. Is it nearly time for the annual check-in on the Paul Hartley Sleeve Tattoo cohort of superstars of English football? I'm assuming they're all still racking up Champion's League medals.
  11. When I lived in Wales I remember getting a curry in a restaurant. It arrived with a dollop of mushy peas on the plate, right on top of the rice. We moved away 2 years later.
  12. Tories took in another £5 million from your friendly neighbourhood racist Frank Hester at the start of the year. Expect this might be mentioned in the next debate.
  13. We could make Stormzy's dog the official P&B dog. That way he gets a new owner on here every couple of months.
  14. Jeremy Hunt today promising not to reform Council tax and challenging Labour to promise the same. He then goes on to say How is this not party-political point scoring?
  15. My maternal grandfather was in the D-Day landings. He died when I was a toddler so I never got to speak to him about it. My paternal grandfather spoke about it. He was injured in the invasion of Italy and was in hospital when D-Day happened. It haunted him all his life that his mates went into it without him.
  16. The real shame here is that D-Day has been hijacked by bellends not fit to lace the boots of the people who were actually there. Ordinary men running into hell. Just normal guys achieving an extraordinary feat. 80 years on it's all flags, medals, royals and politicians hoovering it up hoping to get some glory reflected on them.
  17. Reminded me of the worst thing I ever saw.
  18. You forced me into this. https://screenrant.com/frasier-star-trek-references-easter-eggs-explained/
  19. I quite enjoyed the first couple of seasons.
  20. There is a certain club that comes to mind when reading this.
  21. More bins Husband and wife’s ‘bin missed’ sign in Keycol Hill, Bobbing near Sittingbourne as collection fiasco continues across Swale, Maidstone and Ashford And a week on the same story picked up by the Mail.
  22. By some distance the very best episodes of Frasier were the ones with Daphne's brothers. No question at all.
  23. Really odd one for me. I get they want a number 2 who won't challenge Verstappen, but you need one who can help him out on track or pick up a win if Verstappen has an issue. Think what Barrichello did with Schumacher. Perez is miles off what they need.
