Pre season starts today! Wonder who will be there or not! According to P&J Alan McRae ex Forres has told Peterhead, who had offered him a contract, that he wants to pursue a trial offer from Elgin before he commits himself.

Yeah, there is a player in there. I would just like to see him be more confident and take on his man more often.

We have to recoup at least 20 k in wages and operation fees that we paid for in the year he didna play.

We are Elgin and a big sell to get anybody to come here never mind quality forwards with plenty of other offers but I take your point entirely.

If he goes which it obviously looks like he wants to, I despair about the morals of some people. I don’t think the club could have done any more to keep him. If he does go 20k isn’t going to recover money spent on him or potential loss of revenue. He will be the difference between what play offs we are in. If we are at the bottom end, take 100 of average attendance and that is roughly 20000k in lost revenue itself, not to mention hospitality etc. What about players who have signed thinking with him in the team they would be playing in a winning team? Are they going to ask for a transfer? It would take a lot of money to find a player of similar quality to replace him. Feeling a bit deflated on a number of levels!

A player we offered a contract too, for 2 years despite no guarantees he would play again, wages payed for, in that time, part by supporter donations, found a job by the club, in which he lasted less than a day! and by what I’ve heard is constantly a destabilising influence off the field and I could go on! Having said that could be the difference between what play offs we are in.

How is McInally privy to that info?

According to Jim McInally (Peterhead) Stirling have bid £20,000. Cove also rumoured to be in with 10k bid.

See in P&J, Peterhead are interested in the lad McRae who was at Forres. Is he not a player we should be targeting given that he is Inverness based? Of course maybe we are but not as public about it as McInally!

We have the makings of a half decent squad with maybe another couple of additions. It would be mad to sell a player central to everything we do, no matter what the money offered. Peterhead getting desperate for a striker with McLean maybe away and Rory getting older and more injury prone?

We have Bronsky, Cooper, Mchardy, Beattie, Lowdon and Wilson signed defenders. I would like to see a winger signed.

Agree there should be automatic relegation for bottom club. Don’t think League is big enough for two down. My observation was merely on the play off results, stacked or otherwise.
