We’ve (Elgin) signed Andy Macdonald. We had him on loan about 18 months ago and I thought he was a reasonable prospect then and would have thought he was good enough to develop into a player who could handle League 1, but obviously not. Good enough to be a regular League 2 player?

We need them, also think Darryl may be out for a spell.

Perhaps consult the same surgeon as Cox... I hasten to add I would love him at BB just the player we need.

Good post and can’t argue with a lot you say. I think the 3 5 2 was to accommodate Beattie and partly failed because he did. I agree it’s good to see youngsters coming through and must be encouraged but they are not ready for regular first team fitba on a regular basis. I don’t Miller,Farquhar, Byrne and Hay were happy at being squad members and that’s why they were let go. I would like to see Morrison and Mciver back although chances prob slim, would like to see Gourlay back as think he is better than McHale. I agree with Soapy being captain as I think the extra responsibility will do him good. As a previous poster said if we can retain our better players and recruit decent players in the right positions, full back, centre back, central midfielder and striker then we could do well but I must admit I’m feeling pretty pessimistic at the moment! Not helped when I just read that Roberts and Mcleish have been offered contracts, Big summer and early season for the Manager me thinks.

Seeing as Cove just horsed EK , who were miles ahead in the Lowland League, your statement that a lot of teams in the league would be no worse than Cove is a bit exaggerated is it not? Currie was a good player in his day but latterly at Berwick he was a lazy... waste of a shirt.

Have to agree with Elginer. Elgin are poor and in the end Berwick were well beaten by Elgin. They created a few half chances but little penetration. The defence looks worse than ours! I think the gap between HL,LL and SFL is often underestimated based on a few cup results but in all honesty Cove will never get a better chance.

Indication that we are going for a more North based squad I wonder?
