  1. Think Glasgow are tempting fate here with Brace, he'll give a pen to Stormers.
  2. Tuipolotu has won me over big time. I used to think he was another Nick Grigg, but he's absolutely class and teams genuinely fear him.
  3. I like Ryan Wilson on comms.
  4. Got to be fair though, he actually gave Glasgow a penalty earlier on and the Stormers players were really, really shouting at him.
  5. Tuipolotu did quite well by insisting on competing anyway and making it difficult for Brace to ignore.
  6. Think that was the only penalty he gave Glasgow that half, and the Stormers boy threw a massive tantrum over it. Dead unlucky not to score at the death there.
  7. How's now giving decision based on how loud the Stormers shout at him.
  8. Has Brace given Glasgow anything here? First collapsed scrum and it's just a natural reaction for him to penalise the jocks.
  9. Needs to hit that kick. Still started well. Were a bit unlucky I thought with the yellow and the Stormers try, as it came from a really shit advantage where I think we'd have preferred the knock on 20 yards up the pitch.
  10. I might be wrong, but I have a vague recollection of some niggle and a bit of a confrontation between the two of them a few minutes earlier.
  11. Seeing the Fraser one again, I think it is a red card. You have to take some kind of responsibility for your actions and as soon as he launches himself in the air he's out of control. He probably didn't mean to catch the Hearts player the way he did, but it happened and it is his fault. Like Erhahon last week, it's a moment of rashness that costs us a good player for the next couple of weeks. We are a spiky, combative team, but Robbo has to find a way of reigning that rashness in a wee bit, whilst keeping what's good about the way we play just now. TBF, it's not just us seeing a lot of red cards since VAR came in. Hearts and Celtic away in the next couple of games will be tough, but after that we have a pretty good run until the split, with a chance to really push on. Hopefully we don't lose too many this window, and can start keeping 11 men on the pitch most weeks!
  12. Yeah, if it's Dunne Gallagher and Fraser out then I guess it's got to be Gogic, Shaughnessy and Taylor. Midfeild would be Kiltie, Baccus and O'Hara, which isn't the end of the world, but it's not the most solid our midfeild could be in front of a makeshift defence.
  13. How has he been for St Johnstone anyway? I always thought he was a pretty average player for St Mirren, not terrible, but just sort of there. I always imagined him dropping down to the championship and having a decent career there with teams chasing promotion. Felt like about his level.
  14. I think there is a good chance Healy will now be the backup 10 to Russell, though it's pretty much inevitable Kinghorn will play 10 at some point.
  15. I guess with the physicality and intensity thing, it depends what you are trying to do. Do you want rugby to be a fun runaround for everyone to enjoy at all levels, or do you want it to be a fiercely competitive bear pit where the cream rise to the top, the rest get left behind and you focus on building teams that win stuff. I don't know if I fully agree with it, but there is an argument you can't do both. I think the problem with the Glasgow crowds is the lack of big names (Russell and Hogg put numbers on that gate, there is nobody like that now), the last few seasons of utter mediocrity and the loss of Friday night games during it, the high prices, and the fact it was really difficult for ordinary punters to actually buy tickets for a while as so much was sold to corporate, who often didn't show up. The amount of times I fancied going, went to buy a ticket, was told it was sold out, then watched the game on TV to see massive spaces in the stands was pretty high.
  16. Mind you, at least the signing of Healy hopefully means Kinghorn at 10 is no longer a thing?
  17. We are definitely miles behind Ireland, considering with the signing of Healy today for Edinburgh we are now going to start taking their players! The youth teams regularly get battered as well, with physicality seeming to be the biggest issue. I've got a mate who is a coach for U18s at a supposedly high level in Scotland and he's told some some sobering stories of games v Irish teams in particular having to be stopped before someone got hurt due to the differences in physicality and intensity.
  18. Hope he does stay, been a mainstay of the team who have done so well up to now. One silly red card doesn't negate a season where he's clearly been one of our best players. Gogic is a good player, and played well on Monday, but he's nowhere near as good as Erhahon, as shown by the fact he's not been able to get in the team ahead of him.
  19. The only truly disgraceful bit of playacting in the game was your player diving to get Erhahon sent off. Despicable to be honest and I'm happy to say our players are above that.
  20. I think some folk are being a bit harsh on Tanser tbh. I think he had a ropy first half hour, which of course was played right in front of the Saints fans so it sticks in the memory, but past that I thought he was pretty good. He was up against the Killie danger man, and yeah, he let him run off him a couple of times early, but later on I think he pulled himself together and ended up contributing pretty well in all honesty. Dunne, Tanser and Kiltie on the left was never going to look as solid as Strain, Baccus and Fraser on the right, but I honestly think if you went back and watched it again Tanser contributed pretty well. Corners were a bit shite though.
  21. The entire Killie support was an absolutely seething mess for the entire match, despite the ref giving them everything. Great to see it carry on to here.
  22. I don't know if it was just the adrenaline during the game, it the feeling everything was against us, but I thought there were some pretty massive performances in there today, especially, but not only, from Gallagher, Fraser, Strain, Baccus, Main and Gogic. Really no failures and if we'd won it at the end I don't think that would have been unfair. I saw the Erhahon red pretty clearly at the time, and though it was pretty soft, it looked pretty clear to me. Shame if that's his last game for us, and felt bad for Brophy. I hope Brophy keeps his starting role for our next game, I think whatever striker that wasn't Curtis Main would have been off, and to be fair, it was 100% the correct call from Robbo.
