  1. What I heard at the weekend, and this is very much just gossip, is that we were looking for around £100k but settled for £75k and the sell on. To be honest, I had heard that the deal was done at the weekend as well, so not sure what all the recalling from loan and all that was about.
  2. Yeah, but we paid a fee to get the loan. The only reason it was a loan instead of a full transfer at that point was because it was slightly better for Killie as it meant he couldn't play against them.
  3. I've never really got the hype with MacPherson to be honest. I think he's ok, he's capable of scoring the odd good goal, and sometimes his delivery is good, but I often thought he was poor at the basics. He wasn't really a great passer at all for us, not a great tackler or ball winner either. He thinks he should be playing more often, and to be fair, he does need to be at his age. Davidson really likes him, Goodwin not so much obviously so you can't blame him for taking the offer. St Mirren are also quite right to recall him and ask for some money up front. We keep getting told how rich St Johnstone are so pay up. I expect they will in the next few days.
  4. That lineout was caught at least 5 meters ahead of where it was taken. What the f**k is this ref watching?
  5. That's pathetic from Glasgow. Horrendous stuff and all the big issues are coming from our own ball.
  6. I've got a mate who is a Shrewsbury fan, and I'm absolutely convinced the standard down there must be absolutely rotten as they not only liked Curtis Main, they were absolutely seething when we got Millar ahead of them as well.
  7. Marler was lucky not to be sent off last week as well I think. Maybe he's doing that thing where he's trying to get suspended so he doesn't have to play for England again.
  8. I know you don't want to do one cap wonders, but surely Grayson Hart can have that spot?
  9. Yeah, I guess like AW Saint said, Allan has more of a Pedigree at this level. I guess the thing about Tuesday is we actually looked quite good going forward for a change, with Ronan and Kiltie playing far better than they have been. It's only one game though, so was it the change of system, or just guys being a bit better rested and energised and not suffering Covid? Maybe Allan is too good an option to pass on, but it feels like the player who will suffer will be Kiltie again, and that seems harsh. Or Jim will try and fit in all 3 which doesn't sound great either.
  10. I really like Scott Allan as a player, but do we actually need him? Is it not another injury prone, not particularly quick attacking midfielder. We've already got Kiltie, Ronan and McAllister to fill that role. I just wonder if the money could be better spent elsewhere.
  11. I feel that the worst of Bojo's regime is still to come, and that's the reason he might survive "partygate". The cost of living crisis is going to be brutal. 10-15% increase in national insurance (mostly to pay for the care of rich, elderly Tories in the South East), interest rates going up and fuel bills increasing by, on average £500 a year in April, and possibly more again before next winter. And that's on top of all the damage brexit and Covid have done to the economy.
  12. You think Rowe is a good option? I've not seen him play much so I'm not arguing either way, but us he pushing for a start? I always thought Kebble was a bit like Haining, in that he always looked better for Scotland, but can't really argue with the three ahead of him I suppose. Horne, I agree with, he's not kicked on and basic stuff like box kicking is so poor he just can't be trusted now.
  13. I just can't see Hastings being left out unless it's an injury or some kind of falling out, especially as no other specialist 10 has been named. Christie has been on the radar for a while and has been good for Sarries so don't see him as too much of a surprise to be honest. Ben White I had to Google. Toony loves a random scrum half. It's a pretty young squad anyway. To be honest, I'm not sure I would have disposed of Maitland just yet, I'd still have him in there and I think that's a bit rough. I'm not convinced any of the other wingers apart from Duhan are better than him yet, and, while building for the WC is important, it's the 6 nations and I'd quite like us to win it one of these days! ETA, just noticed Fraser Brown is out as well. Probably less of a surprise, but still a good experienced player. Would have probably had Kebble in as well.
  14. The St Mirren co commentator was absolutely slaughtering him last night, for basically no reason that I could see.
  15. Guys like McAllister, Tait, Flynn, and probably Main, Erwin and Dennis will all be on first team starter wages that they are struggling to justify at the moment. There are guys like that at every club to be fair.
  16. Shat the bed completely here.
  17. Missing Gray as well, especially on defensive set piece.
  18. Glasgow need to make better decisions in possession. They give away more pens on their own ball than the other way.
  19. This is some message coming from Westminster here, basically the Scottish Tories, and that entire branch of the party are irrelevant, and hold no sway or influence whatsoever, except the one that was appointed by London. That's out there now, it's everywhere and if there is another indyref it's going to be played on repeat. It's going to be very difficult to talk about nations of equals and leading, not leaving when that is there, especially if the same mob are still in power at Westminster.
  20. Is that just kind of the way sport works in New Zealand then, because it seems rugby is quite similar with players having to do their time at school/amateur/semi pro and only really making it when they hit one of the 4 pro super League clubs, or go to Europe? I know Glasgow Warriors have signed players from the NZ semi pro rugby teams that have been very good players. It seems to be quite a sporty nation in general, more about participation than spectating.
  21. I could be wrong, but do New Zealand not only have one professional football team? I suppose it might not be that easy over there to break through and there may be some decent players left behind in the amateurs and semi pros. Anyway, it's just a trial, it's really hard to see the harm, though I suppose it should never really be a surprise these days just how utterly fucking pathetic our fans can be.
  22. It feels like wee Dougie was made some promises that have not been kept and now he's fucked it. Fucking lol.
  23. I take it the accounts are fine again this year, seeing as the B&W army meltdown is all about the AGM being on zoom?
  24. He did quite well there tbf
  25. Fantastic from Steyn there.
