  1. Well f**k them then. Food adapts and evolves and does so rapidly when it's adopted overseas. When noodles were introduced to Italy from china they evolved into the array of pasta shapes we have today. I wonder if Italian chefs were all like "the chinese wouldn't make a spiral; that's not proper" "Authenticicity" is fine in small doses, but is the enemy of progress.
  2. https://www.scotsman.com/news/opinion/columnists/scotland-is-now-a-failed-state-and-holyroods-inquiry-shows-the-first-minister-is-the-cause-brian-monteith-3149762?amp Is this right? I haven't been following this closely and hadn't realised that Scotland was even a state, never mind a failed one.
  3. The preamble on the survey said he was a fourth year accountancy student. It didn't look very accountancyish now you mention it. Looked a bit BRALTy.
  4. The EU did plenty negative stuff. The fisheries policy has been an environmental disaster, the agricultural policy subsidises big land owners, the tarrif regime has been terrible for cheap food producers nearby, in North Africa particularly. Not all the EU is affected, but the German influence and ordoliberal central bank totally fucked Greece and hurtbitaly and spain to protect German competetive advantage, an advantage that they gained by waiving the fiscal rules at the start (in their favour) at the start of the Euro. There are also constitutional imperatives for an ever closer union and an unelected commission to deliver it. No legislation gets passed withour the commission proposing it. The UK never got to vote on that bit, unlike many other countries. The banking industry doesn't seem to be benefitting from brexit nor is it easy to see how it might. Banking services aren't included in the trade deal. It's also quite hard to see how we could give the banking sector less scrutiny. The whole country is already run for the benefit of the rich people that live in the south east. Not for the whole of the south east obviously, what with all the africans and bengalis. For me the point is that the good stuff about the EU outweighed the bad, especially from a national interest point of view. I think i could understand if the whole thing had been a stich up by city gents and the financiers of belize and cayman. But it's not, it's some horrible spitfires and empire fantasy to compensate twats for a lack of fulfillment in their hateful little lives.
  5. I'm surprised he's managed to work with people who regularly punch other people in the face and not end up on the receiving end. If i met him i don't think i'd be able to resist.
  6. The Gentlemen. It's a guy ritchie film and delivers exactly what you'd expect from one. Top performances bail out quite a weak story and script. I don't think I needed my brain at all, so it was quite enjoyable. 6/10.
  7. It’s not necessarily faeces is it? He could have been sweaty or dribbling spunk.
  8. I like a ham and pineapple pizza with a drizzle of barbecue sauce and encona hot chilli, but I guess not everyone has as sophisticated a palate as me.
  9. 9/10 times when the regular summer story is on the news about a plane getting turned around due to a drunk and abusive passenger, there's a Celtic top in the picture.
  10. In stand 3, i'd propose that urinals are installed outside so that you don't miss the game when you go for a pee. Because I'm a progressive modern thinker and don't want to exclude the ladies, we should make shewees available at a reasonable price. I propose that shitting facilities remain indoors but think that it might be worth investing in half silvered doors for pitchside facilities.
  11. You just finished watching a replay of the fight or is there a doc about this?
  12. It's a call-back to age of ultron isn't it, where they're having a contest to lift it and he moves it a bit, then "can't" lift it.
  13. The one i saw before he explained that it appeared that a neolithic culture appeared with its centre in Orkney, and spread through the UK, with the neolithic landscape at Salisbury Plain deriving from this culture. He seemed really proud that something originating in Orkney had such a wide ranging influence. They must have remade some sort of hardcore yoon version.
  14. I'm furious that the bible doesn't mention the 40 days Jesus spent in the West Bank.
  15. We should make benefit scroungers get on their bike down to Cornwall or stop subsidising their Sky tv and 10 kids. Do i win "guess the comments?"
  16. It's no coincidence that Nativity 3 is by some distance the worst in the series, despite having Martin Clunes.
  17. E-coli is one of the major food groups in Newport.
  18. It affects the flavour but is microbially safe due to the salt and acidity levels in the ketchup. Mayonnaise will kill you though.
  19. Who wins in a square go between komodo dragons and newport gwent dragons?
  20. It helps to be pished to watch <insert your team here>
  21. Not a reptile, but approves of cranberries in moroccan dishes.
