  1. I wasn't a huge fan of the song but I am a fan of playing metal on a Telecaster.
  2. Swinson always acts like she's head girl of the local comprehensive doing a speech at the prize giving.
  3. I put BBC Scotland on expecting to see AVFT and something else is on...and it's not very good.
  4. That woman who asked the question if Leave voters were stupid is definitely stupid.
  5. I remember Andre Blackman's brief loan spell at Caley Thistle. As I recall he only played two or three times, got the MOTM award for a very good performance at left back against Aberdeen, then started the following game away at Easter Road and was taken off with an injury. He looked like a talented player but then disappeared without a trace and rumours swirled of a bust-up on the training ground and some sort of run-in with the police. He'd been at Spurs and Arsenal as a youth and how many players do Celtic sign from the likes of AFC Wimbledon? Going by the looks of things he later went round the clubs in lower echelons of English football and had a brief spell in Morocco. The next time I heard of him after he left Celtic was when he was on trial with Leeds and got caught shoplifting. I see he's now with Ebbsfleet. As I say he did have some ability and had he had his head screwed on right probably would've played at a decent level, but obviously a total loonball.
  6. Reading between the lines that's what probably happened. I know Butcher did sign a few players blind but always on Steve Marsella's recommendation. He had been on trial though which makes things even stranger.
  7. It's a wee bit harsh to mention people who never played, but an honourable mention must go to Caley Thistle attacker Andre Martins. "Andre who?" I hear you ask! Andre Martins, a Portugese striker with a crazy hair do that made him look like a rooster, had a rather curious past. He'd previously been with Fulham in some capacity and had also played in his native Portugal, Finland, Bulgaria, Sweden, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela though with every club he'd only played a few games before moving on. Even more curious were the clubs he'd been on trial with - Dundee United, Dundee, Raith, St Mirren, Morton, Partick Thistle...and Bayern Munich! He came on trial under Terry Butcher and then we never heard of him again...until a month or two later when he, without warning, appeared on the bench for a home match against Hearts. The club never announced that he'd joined and then, a few weeks later, never announced that he'd left. The only acknowledgement from the club was an article in the P&J where Butcher was quoted saying Martins was a "rough diamond in the style of Adam Rooney or Jonny Hayes". It was around about this time I saw him play in a reserve match at the Caley Stadium - he was atrocious. After leaving ICT, he turned up in Brazil for a trial with Seria A club Goias. That's when things got stranger. While on trial Martins was accused of impersonating someone else, as he'd been invited on the basis of a video...of an entirely different player! A few years later I was speaking to Kenny Cameron (the ICT chairman at the time) and he said that ICT had signed Martins and it was his brother who turned up! Also, his girlfriend had been a contestant on the Brazilian Big Brother! All in all, he was a very strange signing. His current whereabouts are unknown.
  8. It is with a heavy heart I must announce that I have unsubscribed from the podcast. It just isn't a good listen anymore.
  9. I remember him! I'm sure his first match was against St Mirren away and watching him doing shooting practice during the warm up. I don't think he struck the ball cleanly once! He was also the player who signed for Livi the season after, scored for them at Ibrox and got injured in the goal celebration as I recall.
  10. I used to go to the home reserve games quite a bit in those days and I remember Tarmo Kink playing in some of them and just looking rubbish. Another name no-one has mentioned yet - Henri Anier. Seemed to be signed by Foran simply because he'd heard of him and he was just...rubbish. He gets some redemption in that he was trying hard but he must be one of the least skillful footballers I've ever seen. He just ran around like a headless chicken.
  11. I think it's a wee bit harsh to mention Brislen-Hall and Simon King. King had played at a decent level down south but had been blighted by injuries which also happened with us. I think had he stayed fit he'd have been a good player for us. Brislen-Hall never played a first team game but was only really signed to be a back-up anyway (did look good in the reserves though). Blumenshtein was built out of wafer biscuits and despite Butcher praising him massively during the pre-season, he looked pretty ineffective and then got injured again. Curtis Allen was a strange one; had played for Leyton Orient and Bournemouth down south and then scored a lot in the Irish League and signed for us after being linked with Swansea. Joined up in pre-season late and overweight because he was on holiday, then got injured and then got "homesick". I did once see him play for us in a reserve match and he wasn't very good. Jason Oswell was another one who barely played but in pre-season he really looked a player and scored a cracker in a home friendly against Coventry. When he did make the odd cameo appearance in the league, he didn't look anywhere near as dangerous. Aiden Chippendale was on loan from Huddersfield and was fast but didn't have a lot else. Butcher had a few loan signings who didn't do a lot and just seemed to be jersey fillers - remember Alex MacDonald and Jordan Gibbons? Ryan Williams barely played and didn't look up to much when did get a chance. Moved to Canada after we released him. I'm sure he was the player who had a far better record playing futsal as well. Greenhalgh was a bit of a poser but he did have some talent. He was a pretty skillful winger, but was nowhere near robust enough to survive in the Scottish game. I agree with most of what @ICTChris wrote, but I do disagree a wee bit on McCauley and Cole. Neither were great shakes but neither were as poor as Liam Hughes who, despite being highly rated by Cambridge fans in League 2 down south, was absolutely hopeless. Claude Gnakpa was another who was far worse than Cole or McCauley. Another player who'd played at a decent level down south and did have some talent who just so lazy. After he left us though he wrote on his blog on his website that he'd found it hard to settle so far north. His next club was in Iraq! Nat Wedderburn was a poor signing but he was nowhere near as bad as some fans like to claim. He was slow and cumbersome yes, but his ball retention was alright. He wasn't good enough for the Premiership, but we've had far worse players. One ICT name I've not seen mentioned yet is Tarmo Kink (the player!). He'd come with a good pedigree as well having been at Middlesbrough and Spartak Moscow and had played 82 times for Estonia (not a great footballing nation but still!). He also turned down CSKA Sofia and Rapid Bucharest to join us. He was another player who did have some technical ability yet was so slow and lazy. Surely one of the greatest travesties in Caley Thistle history is that he got a Scottish Cup winners medal by default.
  12. I see Loganair are starting flights from early next year to Brussels and Haugesund from Aberdeen. Also, looks like the flights from Inverness to Zurich have ended as apparently Edelweiss are not operating next year. I see TUI have started flights to Majorca though.
  13. There was one guy in-particular doing some stupid over-the-top laugh every time Corbyn spoke. Why do they even bother having an audience?
  14. "Mr Johnson what kind of chocolate do you like?" "All chocolate is great, you know what else is great? My Brexit deal!"
  15. I think the loser of this debate is ITV. An absolute shambles with a moronic audience and a weak moderator.
  16. I'm starting to get the impression that Scotrail know they're rubbish and just revel in it.
  17. I said this on another thread but I reckon the SNP would bite your hand off for winning 45 seats.
  18. Talk on the grapevine is that Robbo lets Kellacher and Wilson take training and has little input on the training ground himself. This would be fine, but apparently as a coach, Barry Wilson is not very good.
  19. This is rather unrelated in some ways but I've heard from a couple of different places over the last few years that as a person, Prince Andrew is an absolutely horrible and arrogant man.
  20. I haven’t watched the whole thing yet, but look at how much he blinks at points where he’s talking, especially early on. That’s a telltale sign of deceit.
  21. I personally voted for the independent 1st but I'm surprised to see Labour finish last in Inverness Central.
  22. Not from what I've heard. I don't have a problem with the club opening a cafe (seemingly Cobhs are going to run it) but to do it at the expense of the bar seems bizarre and not to open it on matchdays is a nonsense. I don't see why it can't operate as a cafe in the week and a bar on matchdays either.
