I'm in the same boat. Asked on United's twitter and no response. I'm sure I remember once we got back in the VST was disabled, which is disappointing as I don't really want to pay twice. I know £12.50 isn't.breaking the bank, but its the "principle".

Same with Pawlett. Both are too important to the first team to risk in a cup competition that realistically by that time we weren't going to win. Better to take them off than lose them for a few weeks with injury.

Last night again showed up my big frustration with United over the last wee while. I don't know if it's a fault of "modern coaching" but it's something we've done for ages and various managers, but we got away with it in the Championship. My issue is the constant slowing down of play. You watch other teams break up the park, with pace as a team, which stops us getting getting set up in defence leaving gaps for the attackers to play in. We, in the otherhand, pass between CH, goalie, full back, CH again then which means one of two things happen... Defenders and goalkeeper are closed down so the ball gets punted, usually with us facing another attack. Or... The opposition get time to all get back in position closing off all space. The amount of times we pass the ball side to side, pass ot forward to someone who immediately passes it backwards without any awareness of the fact there is no opposition player near them & they can turn and move forward is incredible. I know there are timmes.you need to slow the ball down, but vary the pace, its too predictable. The other thing is this constant need to overplay everything! When we do get up the park in dangerous positions our attacks all break down by the time we reach between 25 yards out and the edge of the box. Its the trying to pass it through 2 defenders, the 1-2s, the back heels. Everyone seems scared to have a shot. I know wasting chances is frustrating, but this desire to score a "perfect" goal, passing it into the net, set up by some over complicated "tippy-tappy" football is a major hinderence to our success. Take Scott Allan's goal last night. If that was us then your looking at the ball being passed outside the box, passed to the left back, passed back to midfield, across the box and then out to right back, before some 1-2 is attempted and the ball cleared by a defender. What makes all that even more frustrating is on the occasions we don't play like that we look OK.

Fee agreed for Niskanen, and bid turned down for McMann from Hamilton. He's a left back so Robson must be away.

Duffy was playing for 2 reasons, injury to Sporle and Robson's supension AND making sure everyone got a run out in the pre-season/League Cup group state games. Doesn't look completely ready either to me , but as it looks like we aren't playing with full backs, but rather 3 at the back then will that be as big a problem? Sporle when fit for me is a better option in the current/proposed formation than Robson.and then use Duffy as backup/off the bench to give game time.

Certainly improved over the last couple of seasons. You could see he had knuckled down, but if it then allows us to bring in some creativity in the middle of the park or a winger that can cross consistently then definitely worth it.

Makes perfect sense if you know the history. They changed the name as although they were called Dundee Hibernian, they were not a catholic club or just for the Irish Immigrants, but they wanted a name to show this and remove the misunderstanding the original name gave. First choice Dundee City was objected to by Dundee so United was chosen. United perfectly shows the clubs aims.

I've contacted them twice about this, although the first time was BBC Sport Scotland. BBC Scotland have this time acknowledged it and responded... "Thanks for getting in touch and we are sorry we put out the wrong information. We have alerted the relevant teams so this information will be updated for future airings."

Cheers. These rumours are what we all live for during pre-season! I suppose not every "false" rumour is that, some may be the player turns the club down or don't get an agreement between clubs. Hopefully if we do get someone they are in for the start of the league and aren't weeks behind on fitness.

Not meaning to sound unbelieving, but there are names banded about for the sake of it, this I take it is from a "reliable source"? Would be a position we need to strengthen and would require a fee as he is still under contract for the next season, which could explain the delays. Do you know the positions we a re def looking at for others?

I agree. To me, he looks one of the most technically gifted players we have. I know that doesn't always transfer to the pitch, but he is unpredictable which makes it difficult to defend against and always looks to be positive on the pitch.
