  1. I stated on here that I did not like the BLM movement and I disagreed with ‘taking the knee’ at football matches and another poster tried to have me binned from here. What is wrong with saying that? Okay, you can disagree but what is wrong with it?
  2. I don’t intend to show you my credit card statements but I paid £25 for a years sub. You get regular newsletters and, if you get threatened with cancellation or victimisation, they have a pool of lawyers to help you. Go on, sign up, it’ll do you good. As I mentioned, they’re helping the girl at Abertay and various people who were threatened for calling out BLM.
  3. Absolutely correct. As long as everything is within the law there should be no victimisation. Thats what the FSU stands for.
  4. Denigrating people is all you seem able to do. The whole point of free speech is to allow people like Murray, Young and Biggar make their points and be challenged by people like you. BTW, the FSU are working hard on the case of the girl at Abertay who was threatened with expulsion for stating views on gender which are currently not popular. Thats why we need organisations like the FSU to protect us from the illiberal, intolerant left.
  5. I’m a fully paid up member. Great organisation. Worth giving it a look.or maybe free speech is a dirty word??
  6. Anything has to be better than Netanyahu. At least Israel is a democracy. Try pushing gay rights in Palestine and see what happens?
  7. Just remember, the Guardian supported the Southern States in the civil war.
  8. Don’t you think that maybe this all a bit premature? I think you’re all working yourselves up into a froth before actually seeing what’s in store. So far, I’m quite happy with the coach choice plus the two new signings. You may be correct but let’s give the new regime a fair crack of the whip.
  9. Maybe he’ll give you an apology? Mind you, if he’s as pompous as he says he is, then maybe not.
  10. Can I just say say something in defence of Gordon. I kind of know where he’s coming from I was brought up in a staunch CoS family and even became an Elder and Treasurer before realising - I don’t believe in this. However, most of the folks in my local church are top class and do lots of good things both within and without the Church and I still pay a monthly s/o into the funds. Like Gordon I am classed as lapsed but still, I think, on the books.
  11. Good summary. It just all fits into the ‘loveable rascal’ character which BOJO portrays so well and, indeed makes him so popular. I don’t think he believes in any religious mumbo jumbo but goes through the motions to keep Carrie happy. Politics and religion is a strange mix and through up many contradictions. Must be hard for Kate Forbes to reconcile her ‘wee free’ beliefs with the wokeist tendencies of the SNP.
  12. I agree with all you say. Obviously, I have little credence on here being a unionist, but as someone who has looked at the Accounts on behalf of an SNP relative and having owned an auditing company, this matter is very worthy of an explanation and some action as outlined in my earlier post. You should not be subjected to ridicule on this. I congratulate you on your persistence. The truth will out.
  13. I would have thought that the simplest way to ‘put this to bed’ would be for the CEO to make a formal statement outlining the situation and, if necessary, asking the external auditors to prepare an urgent report on this particular matter which would be available for public inspection within, say, 14 days. If there is nothing sinister, surely that would be the most sensible thing to do.
  14. Why are we so fixated with case numbers? With the vaccinations continuing at a decent pace, surely we should be focusing on hospitalisations and deaths which are at a low level. Hospitals are busy but NOT with Covid cases. Covid is now becoming more and more like flu which causes minor illness but few serious problems. Time to move on.
  15. Could be. All the more reason for this to be sorted out.
  16. Brilliant, well thought out response. Typical.
  17. Yes, but maybe there’s another side to this story? Surely questions will be asked at the fan’s forum. I, for one, would just like to hear the full story before coming to any conclusion.
  18. Nothing. You are correct. I intended to refer to the Electoral Commission, not the Charity Commision. All political parties have their Accounts scrutinised by the Electoral Commission and are on public record.
  19. I’ve repeatedly asked Sandy about this and he just ignores the question. Obviously, none of my business other than my interest in Charity Governance and the Auditing profession. It might be a storm in a tea cake but the question needs answering.
  20. This is going to become a big issue. Swinney asked about it this morning and couldn’t give a decent response. Wings have been going on about this for a long time and been effectively ignored. No longer.
  21. Absolutely. Take a look at the 2019 accounts which show £190k in the bank account. There was supposed to be a ring-fenced sum of £600k. Where’s the money?
  22. My dad took me to the 56 cup final to see Hearts win 3-1 against Celtic. They were a brilliant side.
  23. Yes, it’s not easy but this is our team, our heritage, part of our town and, to most of us, a big part of our lives. Supporting a small town team like Falkirk is completely different from supporting Celtic, Rangers, Arsenal or Man City. I would hate supporting a team of players from every part of the globe with absolutely no connection to our area. Obviously, we now get very few ‘local lads’ playing for us but most of the players are reasonably local, to the extent that we can feel some affinity. One of my best friends who lives in North London has just given up supporting Arsenal for that very reason and is now a regular at Barnet. Poor team but engenders community spirit. All we can hope for is for our team to punch a little above our weight which would mean us being a lower top league club like St Johnstone or Livingston. At present we are a long way from that but, as fans(fanatics) we just have to live in hope and I think we could be about to see an improvement in our fortunes. Why do I say that ? God only knows but that’s what being a fan is all about. So,I for one, will not be looking for any ST refund but will be one of the first to buy my usual quota for next season along with all the usual extras and hoping, with little reason, that we’re on our way.
