Struggles in 06 ? Wasn't wee Gordie the manager then ? Did ok I thought . Certainly better than Postecoglu and the Blessed Brenden European wise. Drew Brees showing his ignorance yet again I fear. -
Why do you need 'competitive football before the season starts' ? A couple of dodgy results, a defeat or two in a penalty shootout and a club may be out of one of only two competitions they could ever hope to win by August. It's insanity. And all because of this crazed obsession with 'meaningful' matches. I can remember the previous League Cup sections. Every club involved and didn't start until August. And Celtic's pre-season warm-up consisting of a close defeat down the A74 to Carlisle Utd followed by Leeds Utd or Manchester City in Glasgow rarely did them any harm.

Depriving the lower placed clubs a proper pre-season with a chance to introduce young players in the relaxed environment of pre-season friendlies and instead forcing them into the nonsense of competitive football in the middle of July certainly doesn't help. It's almost as though this new sectional League Cup format was deliberately designed to hand the Old Firm even more of an advantage..

Remakes that are better than the original
kennie makevin replied to scottsdad's topic in TV and Film Forum
Not so much a remake more of a sequel but 'Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads' is superior to 'The Likely Lads'. Indeed it's superior to the vast majority of British sitcoms. -
Group F - Killie, Raith, Pars, Annan, Albion Rovers

Same feeling about competitive club football in the middle of July as I do about Christmas decorations in the middle of November. Too early. Utter nonsense. Start mid August, end mid May. Simple. -
The bombing of Yogi Hughes career

A guy who is neither interesting enough or talented enough to merit his own unique nickname but instead steals one from a Celtic '60's legend of the same name is doomed from the start. And being more famous for getting his cock out on national TV than anything he's done on a football pitch or dugout isn't a great recommendation either. -
In honour of Martin Stephenson & the Daintees I'm off on a Bus To Blackpool tomorrow ( I did consider a boat to Bolivia but well above my pay grade). Weather looks rotten for the week but once aboard that Starr Gate tram who honestly cares.

As a guy who is seriously into music Cosgrove probably just sees Led Zeppelin as tedious old frauds who pass over the work of black musicians as their own....see 'Whole Lotta Love'. As someone who is always banging on about 'authentic' black inner city soul music it would be remiss of him to think otherwise. -

Never having heard Jota speak or indeed anyone who's had 10 pints at the Brazen Head I can only accept what you're telling us. -

Regardless, he is bored of playing for Celtic. As any properly ambitious player from overseas who hasn't had to endure from infancy the lie of how 'massive' Celtic are would be after a year or two of predictably beating the same 11 teams again and again and again. And that isn't a criticism of Celtic. Nothing they can do about it and not their fault. Just the way things are for a club that actually aren't very 'massive' at all. -
Solid performance...

That's because there weren't any. In fact I would struggle to name one outstanding Scottish international goalkeeper performance in my lifetime. All I remember are the disasters.... Stewart Kennedy at Wembley...Alan Rough on occasions too numerous to mention......Jim 'Jumpin' Jack Flap' Leighton....Craig Gordon's probably been the best but not a high bar. .
