  1. As I asked elsewhere, who is our emergency goalie right now?
  2. You chaps at Falkirk ever thought about selling the rights to Heinz to paint those little towers like tins of Beanz?
  3. Nice quiet week in the penthouse here, even the rabble out back in the tool shed quieted down...but there is a strange cab circling the area...
  4. Holiday homes...that’s it...he needs something to bankrupt now that he’s taken Thomas Cook down! You've cracked it.
  5. Even with proviso last, neither anyway. I’m concerned that Baird alone may throw some of the chemistry this team seems to have found, despite our occasional numbers crunch. Our powder is much better kept dry for now, and held until the January window, when there may be the need to replace Gullan/Baird/Munro, and any other player that might be poached if we keep playing well. While it’s nice to sign a quality player, if some big team swoops in and makes an offer we couldn’t refuse for one or two of our players, we would need to replace what we lose. Right now, we would simply be padding the roster, and might get it expensively wrong. Rome fell due to hiring too many mercenaries...
  6. What’s the usual, a 4-5-1 or more of a 4-4-2? Any of the mids able to play up?
  7. Funny that you seem to object to teams trying a variation of Ray’s preferred road tactics when they visit.
  8. Tremendous scenes when his twitter goes private Why would he bother? His account “appears” in mid-2018, and has a few vacation show off complaints thru 2 Jan 2019....then lies dormant till Jun and catches fire. I would assume a bit of that dead spot is Sunderland tweets since deleted, but nothing about the account says anything other than opportune marketing. You don’t make a bit for a football team without some thought and planning...and about 10 months before you go public seems a bit long, but you have to allow for the Sunderland fiasco too.
  9. Guess NHS is letting the head cases loose again...this nutter needs checked back in.
  10. Given it’s the winter down there, not really surprised.
  11. Almost certainly. If the East Fife game wasn’t at home, he’d be changing for that. I suspect the Stranraer game was the exception rather than the rule. They had a poor record and known deficiencies, so he decided to take a chance and play home rather than road strategy. Now, with a couple of wins under the belt, he’s liable to return to his form, certainly for the road trip to Raith, and perhaps he might over react to East Fife’s strong start and shore up the back line for the game at the cost of attacking width. Ray is a millstone around Falkirk’s neck, and I certainly think he will not succeed if given a chance all season.
  12. Interested in SAndo and McGurn together. SAndo is very much the leader, a roll previously filled by McGurn during his outings. Would expect them to do just fine, two grizzled vets, but you never know. Things seem to be gelling, with Vaughan I like 0-2...without, I’m a little less sanguine.
  13. Same as always, 3 pts. for perfect, 1 pt. for result: Airdrie 2-1 Stranraer Dumbarton 3-2 Clyde Falkirk 1-2 East Fife Forfar 0-2 Raith Rovers Montrose 1-1 Peterhead
  14. Safe for now, McCall to Patrick being reported.
  15. That the ex-Rovers U20 Kyle Bell? What’s he done in, a knee?
  16. Number One rule in here is never eat anything colored brown or yellow that you didn’t buy and keep in your possession. Kinda like visiting Methil... BTW, sorry about your Loco being out front on blocks still...the neighborhood hasn’t been the same since Falkirk moved in.
  17. But, as noted above, the chaos at Patrick is likely to turn a currently successful manager off. If Lennon thought it was too iffy to take, why would Young take a flier with his season shaping well for now?
  18. Stevo, you don’t recognize the movie quote? How disappointing, I assumed an erudite gentleman like yourself would know “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome”!
  19. Let's put him and Stevo in the greenhouse...two men enter...
  20. If he helps get us up, I doubt many of us will care if he moves on to better things. He shouldn't be at this level anyway. If he helps us get up, I’d not be surprised if we had him at least the first half as other teams looked to see how he played at the new level. With a move up and failure to hold that level, they might be a bit more cautious about snapping him up...but I’m concerned about the Jan window still.
  21. The “joint” portion explains the problems with math.
  22. Gordon EF with an 8 for the win. Perfect on two games, and correct result on two more! 15 entries, besides the winner, 2 w/5, 2 w/4, 2 w/3, 5 w/2, 3 w/1 (including me...)
  23. ...and move that damn Loco double parked outside! Careful heading to the shed out back, there’s some Falkirk types creeping around!
