The Falkirk FC Thread

Thought Raith looked shit and a shadow of the team I saw earlier in the season, they created feck all. Take it if we get through it will be at Livingston. Airdrie v TNS would be lucky to break the 2000 mark and would probably be at Hamilton. -

Watched Raith a couple of times before Christmas and thought they looked a cracking side. Watched this tonight as we obviously still have an interest and wtf has happened, have created nothing and look a shadow of the earlier season side. Are players out injured. -

It’s on BBC Alba, BBC iplayer and S4C -
Depeche Mode were superb last night, thought it was a better setlist than Berlin, Martin’s acoustic version of Strangelove was brilliant. The setlist was better but sadly crowd weren’t, couple stood next to us at the side, laid 10 drinks against the wall (I know because I counted them) and chatted and pissed about the full gig, they would have been better in a pub. Loads of pissed folk, guy face planted near us and burst his face. Atmosphere was decent but way too many folk off their faces, f**k knows how they’ll make their work in the morning

Hopefully we will put on the kind of performance that will have the TNS players yearning to get back to the Green Green Grass of home. -

I must be fucking mad but I yearn for the days of One F or similar. I love P&B, been on it over 20 years but I’d love a Falkirk Forum where we could have separate threads where fans could discuss board matters, FFC TV matters and we could have a thread just for football matters. That would be great. -

I see if we get past TNS next Saturday the final is scheduled for the weekend 23/24 March so our home game v’s Edinburgh City will be rearranged. -

I’ve watched our highlights numerous times and watched the Alloa highlights and the booking of Calvin Miller is ridiculous. I’m not saying it’s a penalty but it wasn’t a dive, it looks like he maybe stood on the ball. This myth that if a player goes down in the box it’s either a pen or a booking is a joke. -

Great news getting Coll signed up to a longer contract and hopefully others follow. Wonder how this sits with the rumours of part time football if we don’t go up -

I think as well as cancelling games for frost/water logged etc referees should also be encouraged to cancel if the pitch is a fucking midden. If they feel it’s not up to a decent standard of game being played on it then the game should be off. They are cheating the fans who pay to attend these games and risking injury to players. -

My best day has to be Ibrox 1994, beating one of the ugly sisters at their own patch and watching their fans leave with twelve minutes to go was the best. Plus the scenes when wee Ritchie scored the second are some of the best I’ve ever been involved in. The above Hearts game would probably be up there with my best Brockville memories. I did love the 4-3 Thistle game also though. -

I must admit I’m getting a bit worried now, with Brad, Jordan and Ola away and Miller, Morrison and Agyeman off to Hamilton before the window shuts surely we must be looking to bring others in -
I don’t really see the last 2 games as us having a so called wobble. We drew at Edinburgh because the manager made an absolute arse of team selection, once he righted this we won the second half 2 nil. That on Saturday, we tried to play our normal football game on a cow field and didn’t adapt our game or tactics to counter it. If we lose on Saturday then I might buy into the wobble theory but I’m not yet.

Can’t see us bringing anyone else in, a keeper would be good but don’t think it’ll happen. -
Hope he does well for you and helps you stay up, strange signing by McGlynn as Jordan never really suited the lone striker way we play. He always tried though when he did get his chance and the fans appreciated that.

Looking at Saturday and how we played previously at Stirling, it seems a lot of our players aren’t used to grass pitches. Maybe the week before we go to Forthbank the next time the management team should hire a council pitch to train on. -

What got me was the interview on FFC TV with Ross McIver and you could see players/staff walking across the pitch after the game, It looked absolutely horrendous. I know in Scotland top flight there isn’t a lot of love for artificial surfaces but ours is a good one and certainly better than some of the grass pitches out there. -

Both our keepers are young and young keepers are prone to the odd mistake, it’s the nature of the beast. I was surprised in the summer that McGlynn didn’t try to get a more experienced keeper in. On the flip side they are both capable of brilliant saves and for me Longs distribution is better. It’s a difficult conundrum for McGlynn to solve. I don’t however think chopping and changing them all the time does any good for confidence. -

I’m not happy to be out the cup due to the financial implications but after sleeping on this it’s not panic time. The league form has been brilliant and we are still unbeaten in L1, go to Alloa next week, play the football we know we can and we should be fine. John and the team deserve our backing and we have to keep getting behind them COYB.
