  1. I think as a fanbase we are going to have to display something we are not renowned for and that is patience. The board has taken over a club that for that past 4/5 years has been absolutely rotten and in turn Rennie and Miller have been in the door 5 minutes and we have to give them time. To expect Rennie to turn our team round in 6 games is madness, especially given how hard the January transfer market is. We have a squad that is littered with players who quite frankly shouldn’t be there but they have lengthy contracts which is down to the mismanagement of Holt and Sheerin. Rennie is right in that we have to try and get a settled team on the park, especially in defence. It may be the case that we are going to have to suffer a bit more pain before things start to turn for the better. Against Montrose we had a keeper playing his first game in a while, a defence that has never played together, a midfield that was lightweight and has far too many similar types of player and an attack that has previously played 45 minutes together. When you look at that it’s surprising Montrose never leathered us. We have to give Rennie time to try and turn this round, I’m no fan of the contract to the end of the season. I would prefer to give him the time to get a squad together between now and the summer that doesn’t just get us up but has the bones of competing in the championship.
  2. I don’t know, we only had one and he didn’t start the game.
  3. It’s going to take a lot longer than 6 games to turn this debacle of a team round. You can’t polish a turd and we still have way too many turds strutting their stuff in a navy blue jersey. Got to give Rennie a bit of time.
  4. Our midfield predominantly are all the same, small, not physical enough who don’t deliver a decent final ball. Morrison, McGuffie, Nesbitt and Telfer are too alike and in our size of squad we don’t need the 4 of them.
  5. This second half has been as poor as anything under Sheerin. Dowds looks like the pre-Arbroath version of himself and our midfield really needs strengthening. We are back to creating nothing.
  6. Mutch’s distribution is putting us under pressure, he continually gives defenders the ball when it isn’t really on.
  7. What time does Montrose TV start, I’ve paid for it but it’s just buffering at the moment
  8. So happy with that, I wouldn’t have let him go when we did.
  9. Are they the kind that’s going to get us into the Champions League places
  10. They have a really bad element amongst their support, very right wing and staunch as feck.
  11. I paid for the ppv stream today but it was an awful watch. I actually fell asleep with 20 mins to go and missed the second goal. Mind you it was a braw wee nap I had.
  12. Well that was horrible, we look like we’ve just met each other.
  13. Mine is fine. Quality of football isn’t good so far though.
  14. I agree, his final ball is horrendous and he misses way too many chances for me. Getting money for a player in the current financial climate would be an achievement in itself.
  15. If we could get 40k for Morrison, I would be happy with that.
  16. I’ve said many times on this forum that we should go to a hybrid model until we are out of this league. Look at the top end of the part time market instead of continually dealing in the dregs of the full time players.
  17. I’m maybe out on a limb here but if Rennie and Miller were willing to stay past this season I would be having these talks with them now, the new board may be doing this. From what I’ve seen there is definitely an improvement in the way we are playing, we are creating far more clear cut changes and barring the defensive frailties we could have beaten Airdrie. January is always an extremely difficult window and I would like to see them given a close season and a chance to build something for the future, that’s if he was willing to relocate.
  18. I can see the logic in this, even if we make 4th there is nothing to say we would definitely go up through the play offs. Only downside is that every year we stay in this league it will be harder to get up. Next season you could have Kelty up who will throw money at it, Queens Park, Airdrie, Montrose and possibly Dunfermline. If Rennie and Miller were to stay longer and said they didn’t want to waste cash just signing players for the sake of it in the difficult January window but have a real tilt at going for the title next season then I could buy into it. Nothing however to say we could definitely go up next season, it’s a difficult one either way. One thing for certain though, without 3 or 4 quality additions this month we can forget the play offs as the current squad won’t make it no matter what Rennie and Miller do.
