  1. Hasty drive to the Creek (Bristol Manor Farm) for Shirehampton v Bristol Telephones in Western League Div 1. £6 prog £1 hot drink £1. After a goalless first half, a 46th min opener as the visiting gk couldn't hold a shot, simple finish. Floodgates opened for a 5-0 victory, with the Phones having two late red cards to seal their fate.
  2. Gloucestershire F.A Trophy for (28 Hellenic/Western Lge clubs) Longwell Green 0 Cribbs 2 straightforward win for the visitors with two 2nd half goals v hosts who rarely threatened. Att 50+ £6
  3. Just think VAR takes away the instant enjoyment of watching football, we all accept dodgy decisions, things to talk about. Annoyingly playing on, and then possibly going back to make a decision really tedious. Must be hard to referee with just 2 angles (Inc linesman) with people watching from all angles on a TV set. Do VAR officials get questioned ?
  4. I'm pretty sure that some architects could make a plan to redesign the interior of Hampden - install new seating etc. Remove all seating to reveal a 'blank canvas' for the arty and skilful types to design. Personally the bigger British grounds are way better than Wembley and Hampden. Murrayfield I like, the new ground outside for Edinburgh perfect for them. What if a big sponsor could get naming rights for Hampden, may help the costs involved.
  5. Any fund raising for the club ? Maybe Victorian Dad, but catch the scum and then set fire to their houses. Seem to have had a spate of these in Scotland during this season, real shame.
  6. Glad some of you are 'old school' using pen & paper, the use of colours very scientific ! Mine just go in this book with my records of rugby union/League, cricket and speedway stadiums I've been to. Before dementia sets in, I can still visibly recall most grounds, blurred I admit.
  7. Great display Pollok, fully deserved to get through on the night.Looked excellent under the lights too, worth getting them up. Only complaint, get the handyman up the ladder and repaint the covered side roof - can remember it gleaming black & white.
  8. Keep going 'Doing the 42 ' - just got Cove & Bonnyrigg tbd. One of those will go in February hopefully.Enjoy your football,Scots, be back soon.
  9. My holiday ends at the Indodrill to see Alloa young wasps give out an 11-0 hiding to Rothes in the Youth Cup.Big difference size, skill and fitness was no surprise, some decent stuff at times.
  10. Anywhere to find attendances for yesterdays games ? Was at Sauchie, maybe 1,000 + is my guess. Att = gate reciepts.
  11. Cracking game at Beechwood Park, Sauchie fully deserving 32 win. The teenage Ultras made it a decent atmosphere, fair play to them.Rose couldnt defend set pieces, glorious headers finding the net.The late goal only a consolation, could easily have been 41 before then. Both the home no.4 and no.9 my motm, defender could easily play higher up the leagues. Bonnyrigg half chances, but never able to dominate.
  12. Have just been to Rugby Park too, really good game, Killie pressure in 2nd half didnt bring rewards.Poor goal to concede, but some promising kids out there.
  13. Think the guaranteed promotion for both HL and LL champions could be the only way spfl clubs could vote for a change, don't think they fancy the wilderness for too long. Since their relegations, you don't hear many complaints from ex spfl clubs - maybe the Lowland could resemble the English National before long.
  14. Just back from the Ibrox Library, what a torture. If only Dundee had a bit more up front they could have got something as the Gers defended their 1-0 lead, utter crap they were. The booing justified, rubbish atmosphere apart from the one singing section.Fair play to the Dundee fans who travelled, stayed in the game at 10 and then got adventurous toward the end. Plenty of empty seats, under 30,000 att ?
  15. Only a quickie: with all these foreign games, do you all make trips over there - or are some ex pat's ? Some brilliant games , venues, photos, the Czech one seemed great. Have done Juventus (old ground) Sweden (4 games) and Poland (4) in my younger days. Keep up the good work folks.
  16. Also went last night, Clyde looked disjointed, not knowing what their jobs were. On the 3 or 4 occasions that decent crosses went in, there was either no one gambling or big enough to win headers. The only way was to push up and stop the Pars playing, force them into mistakes. Add some old heads and the youngsters may prosper.
  17. Always played with linesmen, club officials mainly (often cheating) but would find it hard defending, especially when you're looking for a flag, knowing it's an offside. Fair play to the ref's who try to run the game, just think it's down to lack of numbers throughout the game itself.
  18. Any ideas when those p-p games will be replayed ? Enjoyed today's Edinburgh South game, kept me busy on a Sunday !
  19. Went to Paties Road today for Edinburgh South v Arniston 4-1. Not a bad game, bit hectic at times as the youngsters couldn't get the ball down. The sending off of Rangers no.3 made the game easier in the 2nd half, finished by an audacious shot/lob from inside his own half for goal number 4.
  20. First visit to New Victoria Park v West Calder today, scrappy affair with some bizarre ref decisions. The equaliser 1-1 was an excellent passing move well finished.A soft penalty for 2-2 and I thought West were the more likely winners from there on, until getting caught out with a ball over the top, a good finish by Frazer Sutherland - Nitten got away with it slightly imo. Loved the ground and clubhouse, cheap beer up here again ! Am sure Star can play better, be more cohesive as a side, some half decent youngsters.(pen for 2-2 below)
  21. Ready for a 10 day break up north tmrw, Non Lge Scotland will help me with directions etc - along with the old Junior grounds guide. Looking at a full week apart from Thursday (at the moment) just gotta get through work first and make the airport !
  22. Postman Plod is my alter ego -when I'm having a shit day, i turn into him ! Some say I'm like him always, miserable old sod.
