That 45 minutes lived up to all my expectations. Boyle producing the one moment of genuine class with the last kick of the half. I'm being too kind here, that was fucking awful. Second half has got too be better than that. It does sound mighty quiet. I have been to a couple of these games when I lived in Edinburgh and can confirm that they have a better atmosphere than this would have you believe.

The 12" of This Charming Man was much coveted because it had the track Wonderful Woman which was never on anything else. The Smiths 12 inchers were always an event because you knew you were going to get 3 great tracks every time.

This is the start of a Martina/Chris Evert type rivalry for years to come imo. Brilliant match.

Horsegirl are an American trio who released their debut single in April. It was a run of 750 7" and it sold out straight away. Thankfully for slow folk like me, it is getting reissued next week on lovely jobby brown 7" vinyl. Two really good tracks that suggests a full length album will be worth looking out for. I am a Yo La Tengo nut, and this really reminds me of mid to late 90's era YLT.

Low release their 16th album "HEY WHAT" today and it is one of their best. Similar in feel to their previous LP "Double Negative", I would expect to see this near the top of a lot of album of the year lists. For me, their best album since 2001's "Things We Lost In The Fire".

That was excellent. Not familiar with that but it kinda reminded me of Deaf Center crossed with Raime. That was worth two greenies.
