  1. Excellent choice. Just make sure and avoid "The Second Coming".
  2. E.T.'s great btw. I've never seen Empire Strikes Back or Return Of The Jedi. Didn't really like the first one.
  3. Daytime 6 music is interminable as well. Decent after the watershed. Very rarely listen to anything on the radio unless it's Night Tracks or Late Junction on Radio 3. You're probably doing the right thing sticking to your own playlist.
  4. I've heard it a couple of times in hospital waiting rooms. Sounds like a good laugh and like something I might be quite good at. Sadly, I didn't like it enough to listen to Radio 2.
  5. If the last 18 months has taught us anything, it's that we have no good politicians and no good political parties at all. None whatsoever. A bunch of self serving arseholes. The real clownshoes are those who try to pretend otherwise.
  6. Olivia Tremor Control were part of The Elephant 6 collective, a bunch of like minded friends based in Athens, Georgia and active in the 90's. Other groups involved were the better known Neutral Milk Hotel, Apples In Stereo and Of Montreal along with lesser known gems like The Minders and Beulah. All shared a love of 60's pop shrouded in lysergic, scuzzy guitars. OTC were probably the most overt in their Beatles influences. "Dusk At Cubist Castle" is their masterpiece, a 27 track, 74 minute double album of magnificent pop songs coupled with experimental sound collage. It's an album that ages like a fine wine and no matter how often you dig it out, you always find something new within its grooves. A cult classic and an essential listen for anyone with a passing interest in mid to late period Beatles, 60's psych in general or more modern cosmonauts like Gorky's, SFA or Mercury Rev.
  7. Try hesgoal.com at kick off time. There might be a stream on there.
  8. The main stand at Dens dates from the turn of the 20th century.
  9. "Up there in chilly jocko land" "Ha ha ha yer a terrible man Greavsie"
  10. Number 1 the last time Hearts blew the league at Dens
  11. Folks need to temper their expectations a little bit here. We were fucking dreadful last season, almost right up to the play-offs (remember?) and we haven't added a huge amount of quality to the squad ( He's good but he's not fit, and boy does it show). If we finish 10th this season, that is a brilliant result. If we finish 11th, it's not that unexpected and it's still pretty good. You didn't really think we'd be banging on the door of the top 6 did you? The biggest surprise is that the Dabs aren't one place above us. Fair fucks to them.
  12. Fucking hell. Just saw this story on the BBC news this morning. Living in Dundee, I had no idea this was happening yesterday. Glasgow, we are all laughing at you. Sort it out eh?
  13. Game of the day lived up to its billing with a thrilling 2-2 draw between Broughty and EC. My first look at EC this season and it's easy to see why they've been doing so well. Broughty bossed the first 25 and last 25 whilst EC had slightly the better of the middle 40 so in the end neither side can complain at only getting a point. It probably wont stop me, mind you. Another goal for Josh Skelly today and a tremendous strike from Ross McNaughton in the second half. Another great crowd in the region of 350.
  14. Game of the day tomorrow sees 2nd play 3rd as Broughty take on East Craigie. A win for us would see us leapfrog EC. A very tough one to call. McBookies have got both sides 6/5 for the win. Think a draw might be a good shout.
  15. Jesus, is this the usual standard of defending in the EPL? Fucking atrocious. The lad Maximin looks a player but there's some right dross on display.
  16. Animal Collective and Vashti Bunyan is a dream lysergic collaboration as this 12 from 2005 shows. Tripped oot.
  17. Agreed, and yet still better than Hampden.
