  1. Wonder what McCoist thought of that ball from McGinn
  2. I don’t think we’ve been as poor as some believe, just no cutting edge at all.
  3. Not being more than a goal up at the break is criminal. Some of our play has rather encouraging but we really need to be more clinical. Some sitters squandered, Tierney and Robertson the main culprits.
  4. He barely plays club football because he is back up to the best right back in the country. That doesn’t mean he is not one of the best Scottish right backs.
  5. Not sure what he was waiting on.
  6. This. Let’s not also forget this is a 19 year old making his first start for his country. He has just set up a goal and people are desperate to criticise.
  7. That Patterson eh, what’s he like, setting up goals.
  8. I think there are arguments for and against the H word being considered sectarian or not. There is also a legal ruling from 2008 which determined a Celtic fan wearing a t-shirt with an offensive slogan using the H word was religiously aggravated breach of the peace. Similarly a man in Aberdeen was convicted of making sectarian remarks to a couple in a McDonalds restaurant, using the H word in his verbal assaults. So it is far from clear cut in my opinion. sources: https://www.heraldscotland.com/default_content/12374233.celtic-fan-court-t-shirt-jibe/ https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/news/local/court/aberdeen-man-fined-over-sectarian-rant-about-facemasks-in-mcdonalds/amp/
  9. I see the Celtic podcast contributor Natasha Meikle has now apparently resigned from her position within a law firm over her historic tweets. What a shambles this has become.
  10. I agree there, if it comes to cutting ties I don’t have much issue, I think I’m maybe more concerned with the insinuation from certain journalists that Rangers are responsible for the actions. As let’s not forget, these comments were made by the individuals in a private capacity rather than on behalf of said podcast.
  11. Completely appreciate those points. I said I believed it was convenient the timing as I very much doubt the tweets only came to their knowledge in the days following the match, but of course, I can’t prove that, it’s just a theory. And on the second point, I’m not entirely sure how it works but what you say seems plausible. However as an example, Clyde1 are an official partner of Celtic. If as you say, Celtic have made it clear what is expected then should they be held responsible for any controversial rants on there (such as Keevins last week regarding racism/sectarianism)?
  12. Aye, in fairness you’re correct that I never came out and condemned it, which is something I probably should’ve done before now.
  13. I think what I’d offer as any form of balance to that, is that people can have more than one thought or response to the situation. That’s human nature. Myself for example: firstly, I wholeheartedly believe the offensive tweets are unacceptable and any consequences that come the way of these guys will be deserved. However, I also agree with others that this has likely come about as a result of tabloid press being unhappy at the media restriction at Ibrox rather than any genuine attempt to highlight and call out sectarianism or bigotry. I also believe it is convenient that it was saved to be released in the wake of a big derby win for us. I haven’t made these points (until now) as I believe it doesn’t come across entirely well but it’s not to say I disagree with others who have made the point. Additionally, I think those in the media (Stewart and Spiers mainly) that are somehow attempting to hold Rangers as a club responsible for this are trying to set a dangerous precedent and know exactly what they are doing. Any media outlet can become an official media partner with Rangers if they choose to do so. If, for example, the Record had done so, would Rangers be responsible for the offensive tweets made by their employees that are now surfacing in retaliation to the article? No, they wouldn’t. I’m going to leave it there, but also make it clear this is not an attempt to detract from the original article, my feelings are clear it is unacceptable.
  14. If that's aimed at me, I don't think you're following the conversation very well.
  15. What he said wasn't strictly wrong to be fair - he said the record had dug up tweets of his calling Celtic beggars and saying Android phones were for the homeless and gypsies which is exactly what they attributed to him. It was the tweets from other podcast contributors which I was unaware of. I had, naively, assumed when he said what they'd dug up on him that was the extent of the article.
  16. As far as I believe, I think her offensive tweets have surfaced on twitter previously and nothing seems to have happened regarding her employment. I imagine it would only be an issue for her employer if a paper runs a story on it.
  17. Aye. I should clarify that the £117 is for the 3 match package, so £39 per match, which is still incredibly expensive. I just wasn't sure if you picked it up as though £117 was for a single match haha. And I agree on your other points - we don't really get an experience for the money we put in. We turn up, grab something to eat, watch the game and leave. Nothing fancy at all.
  18. The full price is £117 which is far too expensive. They know that mugs (like myself) will pay it though.
  19. David Edgar, the founder of the Podcast. He posted on another forum that this is what the Daily Record had dug up on him, which was partly correct as that is all they attributed to him. I just wasn't aware there were also tweets from other members of the podcast that had been found.
  20. In fairness, I made that comment before the article was published and the full extent of the tweets were revealed. I was led to believe that was the extent of the controversy.
  21. I see the Record are running an article tomorrow digging up old tweets from prominent members of the Rangers fan media group, Heart and Hand. I’ve seen online that a couple of them include referring to Celtic as beggars and another tweet where someone stated android phones are for the homeless and gypsies. Earth shattering stuff. It seems the tabloid media are not liking fan media now being favoured at Ibrox.
  22. Exactly. I wonder if the members they ask for feedback will be limited to, oh let me guess, 1 person.
  23. It hasn't really. I've already mentioned that judging Clarke on last night's match is probably a bit harsh given Denmark's quality. It does nothing to change my opinion though that we are struggling. How would you rate our squad? We are a mid tier nation in my opinion and we should be doing better than 1 win in 9. Any mid table club side goes with 1 win in 9 then questions start to get asked. Regardless if you don't expect us to win going into each individual match, the overall record is not good enough. If I came to you after the Serbia match and said "Look, here are our next 9 fixtures over the next 10 months, how do you think we will get on?" Do you really think you'd predict a single win and be content with that?
  24. I already commented that Denmark are one of the toughest opponents we could face right now. So if we discount the matches against them, England and Croatia - in 6 fixtures vs Slovakia, Israel x 2, Austria, Faroes and Czech Rep I don't think it is unrealistic to expect better than a solitary win.
