I think I read somewhere here that the Home Nations have as part of their agreement that they won't select a player for a period (2 or 3 years?) if he has previously been capped by another home nation, is this correct? Could it be that Anderson/his agent were not fully aware of this? Otherwise the about turn seems very strange (assuming Scott Burns is right and he generally is). In any case though I think it's poor to frame the withdrawal this way. The guy could have handled it better (if it is even true) but he's a young guy and shite like this isn't going to help if he still does require convincing. Also means if he does return that no doubt some of the usual roasters will be on his back.

I'd like to see Gauld get a shot. Let's be honest, nobody here watches MLS with any regularity, but Gauld is clearly enjoying his football again. He was the most exciting teenage prospect in the last 30 years probably in Scottish football, I think it would be a shame for his career to wane out without seeing whether he could offer us something at international level. Looks like the France friendly won't fit in nicely with the MLS Season though. Are there many European players at other nations that are getting regular call ups? Another car crash thread. At the risk of becoming involved, is the benefit of staying at Liverpool over the break not fairly limited if most of their players are on international duty? I'd imagine any first team players not on international duty would be doing relatively light training too.

Yeah Williams was miles away from the ball, it was dangerous and obvious contact to the head. I suppose the only counter argument is that he got his header away unimpeded and you see similar with sliding challenges after a player has shot but was a penalty for me.

To be fair that was as close as Dick got to Lawless all game. 2-2 probably fair in the end given chances created but we should have had that in the bag. Thought the challenge on Hamilton was a clear penalty, you just don't often see such a late clash of heads. Causes for optimism from our point of view, but we clearly need another winger and cover at right back and centre back. Doolan hopefully learned from the change of shape, Dowds and Adeboye should never be on the pitch together defending a lead.

Unless Mulgrew was willing to come in on absolute buttons I'd not be keen on it. Assume he doesn't have any coaching pedigree to speak of? Would prefer Doolan had someone with a bit of experience behind him. What's Sandy Stewart up to these days?

Ultimately Britton was an employee of the club and any 'support' of Low has to be seen from that perspective. I'm sure he made his mistakes in his time at the club but he was there through some pretty difficult times to be running a football club and has done a pretty decent job of ensuring the managers have been supported in getting a decent team on the park. I'd be interested to know what his major failings are considered to be (Low association aside).

Seems pretty reasonable to be honest and given some of the money that's being thrown around on players think it makes sense to insist that some of that is spent on bringing grounds up to adequate standards.
