No East Fife were the last winners from outside the top flight in 1938. They were 6th in division 2 that season which in the era of a 20 team top flight is equivalent to mid table in today's division one. Queen's Park chose not to join the Scottish league when it was first set up so when they won the cup in 1893 they were in the Glasgow League Hearts were the first ever top flight team to win the Scottish Cup in 189 although as there wasn't a division 2 yet they're also the first team from the bottom flight to win it too. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
