Quick Question Thread

Recommended Posts

Sorry to move the discussion away from threesomes but I have a question. I have a landscape painting that's been gathering dust for a while that I'd like to get a mount/back (I don't know the proper term) for so that I can put it on my wall. Anywhere in Glasgow that would do this cheaply yet efficiently?

There was a young man from Leeds,

Who swallowed a packet of seeds.

Blades of grass grew out of his arse,

And his balls were all covered in weeds.

So, no.

You missed a line out for a limerick. :(

Give the wife a nail and hammer no cost involved.

Am I able to return a pair of shoes to JD Sports and get a refund? It would appear they gave me the wrong size of shoe (however I cannot prove that this was their error).

They haven't been worn other than in my house, for less than 5 minutes, and all tags are still attached (and I have the receipt).

As long as you bought them less than 28 days ago, most shops will do a full refund. Might even be law?

You should definitely be able to get a different size or a refund in store credit. Getting a refund in cash may be slightly trickier, depending on their policy.

I worked in JD a few years back and it shouldnt be a problem however I would tell them you bought them as a present for your brother or dad and they didn't like them rather than they gave you the wrong size as they should tell you the size at the till and they might argue that. As long as they still look brand new shouldnt be an issue

Aye, it's always better to lie if the opportunity arises.

Do they say 'ken' in place of know in Glasgow? Or anywhere on the west coast?

Also, unrelated but has anyone ever missed a social event or invite just to stay on P & B?

No..........

Pretty bad example but I missed one of the girlfriend's pals party partly because I didn't even know the girl and mostly because there was a big meltdown happening here that I wasn't gonna miss

Hahaha sorry mate but that's pretty tragic.

Fair enough though.., if it was a good meltdown.

Cheers. It's worth a shot, failing that I'll punt them on eBay.

True dat, as they say. Who "they" are, I do not know.

It's usage is quite widespread in Ayrshire, I think, and I've heard it used in more rural parts of Lanarkshire. I'm not sure about Argyll.

It's definitely not part of the dialect of Glasgow itself.
