I wouldn't say Mckeown would be a player that impressed absolutely everyone though...it's going to be from a team that finished above us or a team that we played in the cups.. Posted June 13, 2014 Share Posted June 13, 2014 I go tthe impression from a few of my Saints mates that he got punted due to being one of thier biggest wage earners, yet not making the team enough to warrant the money... would seema strange one for him to come to skint ol' Raith Rovers? Our wages aren't exactly massively publicised, but it certainly seemed he was one of our higher earners. I think a combination of his wage demands, and the unwillingness on the clubs part to promise him regular games led to him leaving, sure we were going to offer him a contract but it was likely on reduced terms. The bit about the guy giving us something we lacked last season is quite interesting, but we were deficient in so many areas that it's quite hard to pin down. Presumably the centre of midfield is complete, and I'm not sure Riley would provide anything Cardle didn't. A striker who finds the net regularly, or one that can hold the ball up particularly well? Again, Elliot did the latter to a degree, but only pre-injury. They're probably just trying to generate a bit of interest by describing it as "exciting", and rightly so, but I hope it isn't a bit of an anti-climax. Pre season starts a week today so presumably Murray will be back from holiday at the beginning of the week.
