The New Raith Rovers Thread

Hope Dougie Hill's tetanus jabs are up-to-date. Josh 'Suarez' Falky has learned a new trick to go along with the diving, moaning and hacking.

I'd not be worried about that. If he tries it we'll have Dougie head-butt him before Jimmy Scott breaks his jaw.

It'll certainly be interesting to see how we get on. Last years fixture was the most comfortable win I've seen us have in a Fife Derby versus the Pars. It was 2-0 going on 5-0 at times. Both teams appear to have changed a fair amount on paper. I'm happy with our additions so far and hopefully we can have a positive start.

It would seem Anderson penned a 1 year deal

It was on the Rovers website last night. That said, if I was in Rio there wouldn't be no danger I'd be looking at the Rovers website with the sun, football at women there! :P

With Barr and Watson on our books I reckon Hill won't start many games so he's safe from the pikey*

*stolen from Cowden fans as they seem to call him that quite a lot. Such an angry bunch.

Falky was accused of spitting on a Cowden player when playing for Arbroath - would you believe they didn't take it very well?

It's a good test for us - after such a doing by Cowden it's good to be able to play another Championship team again so soon to drum it in to the players what it takes to step back up a level.

Barring some preseason striker disaster we'll have a strikeforce for this one, unlike in the game against Cowden.

Probably a similar outcome to the tie last year - Pars to huff and puff but the cup specialists to progress to the next round.

Oh no! We'll be up against 'The Moff'.

I hope he's not aflame.

Edited to add: I was down the club earlier and the stadium is looking great with the power washing that Andy Mill has been doing and the new seats in the railway stand. They've painted yellow health and safety lines on the South stand stairs too which kinda goes with the colours as well.

If Cuthbert manages to keep McGurn out of the team even when he's back fit I'll refuse to believe any posts stating how good he is again as Cuthbert is average at best.

Andy McNeil kept him out the team once upon a time .....

Aye, but as we all seen at the time that was just down to John McGlynn's ineptitude as McNeil threw the ball into his own net week in week out.

Its worth remembering that he's come back from a career threatening injury pretty much a year older. I've seen Cuthbert play for numerous teams and I can't really recall any massively outstanding performances. That said, seeing McGurn week in week out has allowed for that, I'm sure others would say the same of Cuthbert having seen him week in week out.

According to this week's Fife Free Press we are in no hurry to make further signings. Also, it was Archie Campbell who asked to train with us.

Oh. Goodie.

Any chance of someone sticking up the back page? It usually takes them hours to update it.

I'm reading it as we'll go with what we have, see how it goes, and if things aren't going accordingly we'll try and strengthen before the window closes. So by that rationale Scott and Anderson will be our wide players with Fox and Moon in the middle.
