Duffy has had a resurgence due to his recent time at Morton but he has been in management for 30 years and has won one league title in that time.

That said, I wouldn’t be going ‘aw naw’ if he was appointed. He at least has experience and he did well at Morton. I’d still prefer Lennon but I suppose the Board can only go on applications received.

Thing about Duffy that people don't like was how he 'struggled' to win the League One title with Morton as if it's a cake walk. Regardless of how he won it, he won it! But the best way to judge him and his team was by how well they adapted to the step up into the Championship. Mid table the season directly after promotion and then playoffs the season after that. Last season maybe was a bit tougher but finishing 7th, 20 points off relegation, is hardly a disaster.

Maybe he was a victim of his own success; winning a league, keeping them in the league, playoffs and a league cup semi final all get forgotten about if there's no improvements the season after.

People are concerned about his lack of trophies and titles in a 30 year career, yet his only trophy/title win came at his last job and was only 3 seasons ago. If he's in for the job and that's the list of people he's up against then it's surely his to take.

Keep in mind Morton had the ability to sign more players due to their backing of Dougie Rae. We've got a board who aren't nearly as open on their budgets.

At this moment in time, how much money he had at Morton is completely irrelevant. He's got experience, he's got a team well worthy of winning this league and he's got time to do it.
