Bobby Skidmarks
If you've got pictures, try and get a valuation for it. Surprised the walloper could keep a straight face telling you he'd 'lost' a fucking grandfather clock It wasn't a grandfather clock it was a mantelpiece clock, it was my grandads. When I brought it in he said it had been made in Germany which made me suspicious of my great grandads intentions during WW1 as I reckon he claimed it from some house he was shooting Germans in.

stimpy
Sheep? I find that people who don't, tend to romanticise things like anal and showing your love for our wooly friends through a physical act when in reality it's just all far too much effort.
Bobby Skidmarks
In about five years time it's a guarantee that the clock will appear on an edition of the antiques roadshow with some dodgy old c**t giving a made up story of how he inherited it. You will just have to maintain a close watch and see if you can clock it anywhere. I'm heading down to the shop tomorrow to speak to him as he is a bit of a doddery old c**t and genuinely might have misplaced it. His only saving grace might be that he's from the family my great grandad chored it from.
stimpy
I inherited my granddads clock when he pegged it a few years ago and it was in dire need of repair and cleaning. It's about 100 years old as it was his fathers before him. Anyway I put it into a specialist clock repairman and he has lost the fucking thing. He has offered me a minor compensation figure but feel that's not the point. I reckon the c***s claimed it. Try to find a similar one yourself online or go to another shop to describe it and get a third person to value it for you. If it's worth a fiver then he's lost it, if it's worth more then he's at it. How did he manage to loose it, not like a 100 year old mantle clock is a trolley token that he lost down the back of the settee.

Looted or not, tell him you're phoning the cops. Both my Grandads served at Gallipoli and came back with nothing more than a bald head, both of them. I still feel abused for it, not even a Tommy Cooper hat ffs.
supermik
I inherited a gold Raymond Weil watch when my stepdad croaked. It needed the strap fixed so the wife gave it to her pal that worked in a jewellers. Bitch said she lost it but I reckon she flogged it as she was hard up at the time. Still gets my back up everytime the wife ever mentions her name.

Was it too large for the shelf, and stood 90 years on the floor?
Hedgecutter
Was it always an hour fast? I noticed a couple of days ago that my watch was an hour fast. Pretty sure it hasn't been for the past while seeing as I've been using it problem free, but it was exactly an hour out (as opposed to running slow for whatever reason). Then yesterday it was two hours fast. I've not adjusted it at all. Creepy.

stimpy
You mean "lose" I know my spelling is atrocious so can we both just blame the spellchecker for not realising I wanted to say lose and not loose. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter and I hope we can move forward from this point in our relationship to a brighter better future.
