The programme that followed the first episode of Dr Who on 23rd November 1963 was The Telegoons, a puppet version of The Goon Show

The news and weather followed that and then Juke Box Jury had Sid James as one of the panelists. 

Later that night Comedy Playhouse had a play called "Chars" which starred James Beck, later of Dad's Army fame.
