jaggyness
Interesting debate to be had about the number one sprinter in the world right now. Demare, Bennett or Ewen?
jaggyness
Kelderman looks to be losing pink today. Most likely to his teammate Hindley but there's still a final ascent to Sestriere so an attack from TGH or Hindley could make tomorrow's ITT thrilling.
kiddy
Didn't think the tour could be topped for excitement at the pointy end of the race, but this Giro has just been fantastic. Resulting in a finale that will no doubt be talked about in the annals of Giro's in years to come, alongside those of Bartali & Coppi.

If the last TT is anything to go by then Hart has to be favourite.
kiddy
I like how the Italians keep it competitive till the very end, by regularly having the last stage as an ITT. But it denies the Tifosi a showpiece finale where there favourite sons can take a final bow before retiring.

kiddy
Can you imagine if tomorrow was a processional stage like at the tour? You couldn't possibly have a processional stage with them being so close in time & rightly so. The drama of a final day shootout, Lemond/Fignon 'esque, is insurmountable & if that's what it takes to split guys at tenths of a second apart, then so be it. Anybody within time bonus of catching a race leader should be afforded that chance.
kiddy
Add to that it was left to a prologue, where he wasn't even competing, for Cipolini to be allowed to say farewell at the Giro.

Huge credit to Geoghan Hart and Hindley (plus Almeida) for making it so. It seems every big race there are more youngsters stepping up to the plate with talent and delivering. It's great to see. And what about Dennis's performance today and up and the Stelvio? Could he deliver in Grand Tour in future? Looking forward to the ITT tomorrow. Pity we just have the Vuelta until next year.

His reading of the race was outstanding.
kiddy
Still think Ganna is a stick on for the stage tomorrow. That his effort was over early doors pretty much ensured this.
peasy23
Hart goes off at 3.09, Hindley 3 minutes later.
kiddy
Ganna wins stage, he's 31 secs ahead of 2nd place, with all the main ITT's finished.

Avoiding any mechanicals, it's all down to how Hart and Hindley handle the pressure of trying to win their first grand tour.

jaggyness
Remarkable in a year where they have been regarded as disappointing, ineos have won the giro by winning 1/3 of the stages. Incredible from the team and in particular Geoghegan Hart

Incredible from the team and in particular Geoghegan Hart Tremendous race, hopefully the Vuelta can conjure up a finish like the other two grand tours have. That's the 4th time a rider has lost the pink jersey on the last day, Fignon was one of those back in 1984 when Francesco Moser pipped him in the final time trial. History repeated itself for Fignon when he did the same in the 1989 Tour when he shipped almost a minute to Lemond to give him the win.
