As far as ticket prices go, they're the same price as Lorde so it's pretty much what I'd have expected. I'm quite surprised it's the Academy tbh. I know the new album hasn't shifted anywhere near the same sort of units as the first record but I'd have thought they'd be doing the Hydro if they're playing the Ally Pally in London. Quite a few bands have played the Ally Pally and not even sold out the Academy. Dunno what the deal is there.

The first album did over 300k in the UK but the Radio 1 support off the back of the Sound of... win would probably have had a massive influence on that. Normally you'd think a band shifting those sort of units would be able to do a Hydro no bother, if not a sell out then at least have a good look. However the last Glasgow show they did was the ABC (I think) so taken in that context ABC > Hydro would almost certainly be reaching in any normal circumstances. Even more so given Something To Tell You hasn't sold anywhere near the same sort of #numbers as the first record. FWIW: it looks like the artist/o2 pre-sale for the Academy is sold out already. JamieStevenson
I got them through O2 Priority no bother at all. Tried their own presale link originally but had no fucking chance with that.
BallochSonsFan
Saw Lindsay Lou at the CCA on Tuesday night. She was very good. TV is pish and she's playing Stirling tonight - tempted to drive through for the gig.

underdogunderdog underdog
Booked tickets for DMA's at Barras. It's not often you get to see bands there for £15.
tree house tam
The Wailers doing Legend next weekend in Glasgow is my next gig. Bit of a shitter that Bob's not there though.
GrahamJags
Brian Fallon was excellent last night. Band was great, and he was in a really good mood. That solo piano version of The '59 Sound though. Wow. Cool Ghouls for me tomorrow night, then King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on Sunday. King Gizz are one of the best live acts around just now, so that should be a topper.
Ira Gaines
Bjorn Again at the ABC in December seems like a good idea to me. Rhapsody at the O2 Islington on Monday is the next in line though.

Le Tout P'ti FC
Paul Draper on Monday at the Caves playing solo set then second half is AOTGL in full.Paul Draper again at BBC Quay Sessions on Wednesday. First time there, has anybody been before? Is there a bar, or is it a case of sit in the room, do as we say, and smile for the cameras?

Is there a bar, or is it a case of sit in the room, do as we say, and smile for the cameras? It’s fairly informal. Assuming it’s a standard set-up rather than a studio recording then the stage is essentially in the foyer of the BBC building. As far as I can remember there’s a wee bar/cafe type kiosk.
Miguel Sanchez
Some time ago when Darren Barr was called up to a Scotland squad (this is a thing which happened) I remember a poster on her, I think it was one of the Gavs, saying how proud he was of him, like seeing your son bring home a really hot burd or something similar. I had a similar experience seeing The Xcerts at the ABC. I'd trade never seeing Do You Feel Safe? or Hurt With Me live again to carry on the sense of pride I had last night
