#Gary
Went to see The Wombats at King Tut's earlier on. Say what you like about them, but they are great fun to see live and write a great pop song. Aye they were really good. Not too sure about some of the new songs though. They were a bit 'meh'.
SaltyTON
How big is the Barras? If Slayer and Limp Bizkit play the Barras and Academy, respectively, then Alter Bridge and Shinedown aren't big enough for the SECC. Only 1900, considerably smaller than the Academy. The wee hall of the SECC holds about 4000, Alter Bridge sold out the 2200 Academy, and Shinedown nearly did. Smashing Pumpkins played that hall with less than 1500 there, I know cos I was there. EDIT: Avenged Sevenfold & Stone Sour are playing the SECC, who the f**k are they when they're at home? Both AB & Shinedown could easily draw more, they both are touring the O2 venues, except for Glasgow for some reason. well fan for life
Aye they were really good. Not too sure about some of the new songs though. They were a bit 'meh'. It's always a task for a band to play totally new songs live, though. And Dan was clearly having horrendous issues with his monitor. But they got on with it and good fun was had by all.

They're playing their Scottish dates while I'm in Groningen and come to Groningen in February when I'm back in Scotland! forehead7
Cheers. I'm definitely considering that. As am I, think an acquaintance of mine might be driving down so I might try and hitch a ride. I'd only go if I could get tickets for the second show, since I don't like Biffy but I like Jimmy

Mr. Brightside
MCR were actually pretty good last night, and I'm not much of a fan, probably a 7 out of 10 or something.

Smurph
Sum 41 was brilliant! Better than the last tour I thought, though the support wasn't as good. Only downside was that during In Too Deep, some crowdsurfer knocked off my glasses and they broke. It was definitely worth being unable to see for the next week.
latapythelegend
The Gaslight Anthem at the HMV Picturehouse on the 19th then Bon Jovi at Murrayfield next June. Happy days
Islay
Sum 41 was brilliant! I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. They certainly exceeded my expectations of them by some margin.
Lordofthewing
Deftones a week on Friday at the o2 Academy in Glasgow, it'll be the second time I'll have been to one of their gigs. The last one was actually in the same venue while it was still the Carling Academy. Sadly a bloody seated ticket though Would like to think I'd be able to get into the standing section, but I'll see how it goes.
