Legally they're not allowed to get "a little feisty" when someone is clearly giving up, if they can't adhere to law then why should everybody else?

How did this have only one up vote? The police are not there to dispense justice. If somebody has surrendered, they should be restrained, cautioned and taken into custody; the police do not have the right to physically assault him as some form of punishment.

FWIW, I wondered if the 'pile on' might be because many of the police officers wanted to claim to have been involved in his apprehension. Something to tell their grandkids about, perhaps?

"So Granda, what you're long winded, shitey story basically boils down to is that you and eight other officers piled onto a freely surrendering man, just so you could claim a piece of the action"?

"You really are a disgusting, opportunistic auld p***k, aren't you?, they should have had your pension for that". (Although thank f**k they didn't, a wee bit of inheritance might at least dull the embarrassment of being related to you).

It gets mentioned a lot that Rees-Mogg was cutting about with his nanny as a grown man, but was there ever a reason given?
