Never realised it was a remake before. According to Wiki it's a remake of Hong Kong film Internal Affairs, which also had two sequels. Are any/all of them worth watching?

Saw the first one when it came out and preferred it to the remake which I found a bit formulaic, haven't seen the sequels.

It's actually Infernal Affairs I think, and it's excellent. The first one is genuinely one of the greatest films ever made and the suspense and tension is unreal. I think in a seen the second one and thought it was pretty good too.

Great film as is the Departed, which is a pretty loose remake. Full attention required and subtitles which puts puts most numpties off. 9/10.

Am I being whooshed here?

Not intentionally. I think it's a good gif - the kind you could use if your team had just pumped Morton 5-1. The Departed is a remake of Hong King action flick Infernal Affairs. I know it picke up a few Oscars but it's generally viewed (unfairly IMO) as a poor relation to some of the classic Mafia films like Goodfellas.

It’s not a gif from The Departed is what I was alluding to. It’s from Anger Management, a very different film!

I completely agree about The Departed though it’s great.

Ah - I was all mixed up. It was the picture with the hand from The Departed I liked and my brain must have blended that with that gif. Cheers for putting me right.
