Not it isn't. We aren't talking about pronouncing it correctly as dictated by English. We are known as QoS not QotS. Our badge is "QoS" and even the website is "QoS".

Nope. What your badge and website say is irrelevant. The name of the club is Queen of the South, so it’s either QotS, QOTS or if you want to remove words then QS.

QOS makes absolutely no sense unless the name of the club is officially Queen of South.

Having a braw time imagining the graphic designers of Dumfries in 1919 unveiling their finalised logo only to realise they've missed a letter and have to pretend it's deliberate.

They've got away with it for a century, right enough.

Why would we do that?

Because you speak in a dialect?

Albeit as I said one I'm not familiar with.

An equivalent might be if you were a Yorkshire club. You'd be TQOS.

T' Queen of South.

A bit late to the party maybe but we were taught at school not to use the T of The in acronyms. Seems to be the norm now to include the T of the whereas Queens' use of it in the seats in that pic above would have been the accepted norm in days gone by. Don't think it's a case of being right or wrong, just a development/blending of acronyms and initialisations, maybe reflecting the digital age and all increasing need to abbreviate. Not including it always seemed a bit pointless anyway.
