Another wonderful sunny day here with mucho lounging out the back. And darts.

One mini cloud appears and the missus runs away inside as “that’ll be it for the day”.

The sun was behind the cloud for about 30 seconds.

She returns about half an hour later stating “amazing, the sun’s back out”.

I'm not a babe (far from it) but I'd like to nominate myself.  We had to get a new washing machine, but had to get one that would fit in the current space.  The tumbler drier is in the hall, and i suggested putting the washing machine in the hall as there is more space...🤦‍♂️

I really do wonder what the hell I have married sometimes…

Giving her the benefit of the doubt - maybe she has dementia, or you keep her locked up in the cellar, which would be the only acceptable reasons for not knowing the year by June...she sent you that humiliating text on a mobile phone with a built-in calendar.

We were looking after our 7 year old nephew last week who has been struggling with his maths at school.  I wrote down some sums ( like 12+15, 13+19 etc) just to see if he'd manage to cope with carrying the 1 etc.

First sum he does was 12+15 and he's sitting trying his hardest with it.

"Twenty six?" he asks nervously.

Before I can say no my wife starts cheering and goes "Well done!".

The look on her face when I pointed out that maybe she should be doing the quiz as well....

I guess she's the one with the English skills and you the Maths.

I consider myself relatively literate and fairly pedantic but can't see anything wrong with that. What am I missing?

Thank God you said that I don't have a clue what he's on about

I'd have thought this, rather than not hyphenating the age, is what hk blues is getting at.

You see, that's where this is all going tits up.

For the avoidance of doubt, I was not taking the piss out of someone's grammar usage.  I was lightheartedly poking fun at the irony of somebody ripping the piss out of their wife's Arithmetic skills whilst at the same time making an English mistake themselves.  It's called irony.

(I've checked this several times and feel safe that I can now hit "submit" but will take any resultant feedback for errors on the chin 'cos that's what we good guys do)

I imagine the reason below? It's peak pedantry, tbh.

I’d add to that using the digit “7” instead of the word “seven”. I was taught to use the word for positive integers less than 13, and then digits otherwise.

However, who really gives a f**k?
