pencils
I've got an iPhone 5s and just over the last couple of days Twitter won't update unless I'm connected to wifi.. Anyone know what's going on? I've tried logging out and in and deleting the hope but still nothing. It's also nothing to do with running out of data because everything else is loading fine!
Zen Archer (Raconteur)
If you try on say Firefox or Chrome does it work? Downloaded Chrome, seems to work OK I miss my drop down favorites, is there a way to replicate this in Chrome?
palmy_cammy
When you installed Chrome it should have asked if you wanted to import your favourites I think. It's a while since I've done it but you might have had to have chosen advanced setup. Try googling "import IE favourites to Chrome" and you should find a guide.

welshbairn
Just signed up to Amazon Prime for a month to get quick delivery on a book. Fully intend to cancel it before they start charging, but will it work abroad for video? Going to Malta for a week and was thinking of taking my Chromecast dongle just in case the hotel telly has a USB connection. Or I could watch on my Nexus tablet. Would I have to go through a proxie?

mozam76
My galaxy s4 flashed up a message today saying "memory card unmounted unexpectedly" or some such pish. All the apps that were on the card are still appearing in the app drawer but they're greyed out. When I go into settings/storage the only option is to insert card, instead of unmount. I've inserted the card into 2 different pc's via card readers, and neither of them recognise the card at all. Needless to say, the stuff on the card is all stuff i'd love to keep - family photos etc - and I'd be gutted to lose them. Everything points to the card being gubbed, but do any of you guys know if there's anything I can do to get stuff back?
palmy_cammy
It doesn't sound promising I'm afraid. As a long shot you could try connecting the phone to a PC and doing a full sync just in case Windows can still "see" the card. It might be worth searching through the folder structure of the phone in case copies of your files have been moved elsewhere. For example I think if you send a photo over Whatsapp it saves a copy in the Whatsapp folder as well as the normal DCIM location. I can't help regarding professional data recovery solutions because I've no experience of them. I know they are meant to be pricey though.
mozam76
Took the card into Silicon Group on Dalry Rd in Edinburgh - one of their pc's was actually recognising that something was plugged in, but then the pc started to run hellish slow. As soon as he took the card out, the pc ran as normal. The fact that it was being recognised is something, but I think I'd need to go down the professional data recovery route and I haven't the cash for that. I did look through the phone structure palmy, but I'm always transferring stuff from the phone storage to card. If I was half as organised and backed up the card elsewhere as well, then I wouldn't have lost all this stuff. Fucking raging.
Swarley
Ah that's a fucker Mozam. I remember my S4 did something similar but my card started working after I did a couple of turn it off turn it on agains. Hope you can get the data.

palmy_cammy
What browser are you using to access the internet on your phone is it just the stock Android browser or a 3rd party i.e. Chrome or Opera? Are there any updates for this app or for the phone in general? It sounds like the system clock has screwed up, but this isn't something I'm familiar at fixing on an Android system.
Paris Hilltoon
Anyone got any experience of replacing a screen on their phone? I've fucked my G3 and although it's insured, it's still going to cost me about £100 to replace through them. Over £100 at the shops, or if I buy the screen myself, about £40. Tech forums suggest that it's do able, but I'm not the most tech savvy. Not afraid to whip the tools out tho, and the screen comes with the specialist ones as well. The digitizer is OK, I think, but it's easier to replace both than just the screen, and not much more expensive for both parts.

Uncle Psychosis
My old Samsung galaxy s2 is finally dying. I'm no longer prepared to sign up to extortionate two year contacts so I'm wanting to buy a handset outright to use with my sim only contact. Anything to stop me buying a Moto G? Seems like by far the best value for money out there.
