No, wait a few games until we suss the league out. Can't have another shocker like the Mark Millar red card game to kick off things.

Someone like little Morton will do.

I get your sentiment but everyone seems to think Raith, Plastic Whistle and Ayr are the teams to beat, so if we can’t have the Pars early doors I would want one of them to lay down an early marker.

There’s no reason further shares can’t be issued.

It would need at least a majority of existing shareholders (and perhaps 75% if that counts as a special resolution) to agree. And it would need to be the right kind of investor not some shark or dodgy dealer.

Another loan to help fund the club?  Imo investment is what is needed.

I’d only advocate a loan for the crucial piece infrastructure, being for the grass pitch and nothing else. But take your point that investment would be the best way forward. Would the Rawlins want to contribute given they’re still significant ‘sleeping’ shareholders in the Club?

They are but we still need investment unfortunately. The government loan just filled a gap

Worth noting that this was still the *largest ever* single investment in the club, albeit only slightly larger than the Patrons and before that, Rawlins.

Agreed- I do think we should be open to investment though if the right individual/group appears.

It's interesting to see what's been happening at Motherwell the last couple weeks regarding external investment in a fan-owned club. There's a lot to unpack (and if you have time please read it because the investor has signed up to P&B to debate which is always fun) but essentially they have received an investment proposal which would dilute their fan ownership shareholding below 50% (from 70% odd).

The sticking point for them is the dilution below 50% and the level of investment being pretty low scale in Premiership terms. It made me think about our status and our own model and I do think we should be quite attractive to an investor. The proposed investment in Motherwell was something like £2m spread over 6 years, for 49% of the Club. It would require a lot of work obviously, and you have to take into account the larger shareholders and smaller shareholders who are not part of the Patrons Group but in an ideal world you could have the FSS and Patrons make up 50%+1 of shares and the rest open to a larger investor(s).

Donaldson struggling with injury according to JMcG.

Read that to. That's a bit of a blow that he'll miss preseason. Was hoping to have Coll and Tam back fit for the start of the season.

I spoke to Coll on Saturday. After he started missing games (due to his red card) a few things flared up and he's been struggling ever since, hence why he's taking it easy right now. He said he hopes to back playing in a closed-door game a couple of weeks from now. We'll see.

He was sent off on Saturday 20th April, Saturday just gone was 15th June, so 8 weeks have passed. I obviously have no idea what these "things" are but were they the type of things that would heal in their own good time or has he been coming in for treatment in the meantime? I would hope the latter, he is now too important a player for us for him to be out for any length of time.

Let’s hope it’s not too serious but a bit concerned that it’s a few weeks since he’s played. Seems that Henderson is also carrying some concern.

Still think that we should consider a CB if we can stretch the budget, as with Lang only returning from injury, for me we need cover.

They physio has been monitoring him. I didn't inquire any more about his recovery when he gave a target date for his return, which is just before the first league cup tie. I've found that players are often over-optimistic when estimating their return to fitness though so I guess we just have to wait and see.
